What dish network satellites are shut down.

I got an old dish500 that I wanted to see if I'll pick up dishscapes with it and try some old tech out. It's pointed at satellite 110 and 119w but I can locate the sats individually but not at the same time. The lnb is a normal DP TWIN NOT A DPP. The reciever is a vip612.

DP Twin or DPP Twin are equally compatible with 612. Make sure it's not an early Twin; those are not DP (though that can actually be used, with dual-run coax). Need to use a high-freq. splitter at the 612 (to connect both sat tuner inputs) if a single coax run to the dish. Most likely cause for only being able to peak one sat position at a go is mis-setting of skew. That's the circular bolted interface on the 500 mount. There's probably an instructional somewhere that tells where to set for your latitude, or someone here can probably give a quick explainer. I just haven't done it in quite awhile. A bent dish pan can also cause this kind of issue.

You need two dishes

A) 2 - 500 dishes with DP singles pointing at each Satellite, connected to the switch
B) A 1000.2 dish with a DPP EA pointed and a 500 wing dish pointed at the 119, connected to the switch
C) 1000.2 WA dish with DPP LNBF and a 500 Wing dish pointed at the 61.6, connected to the input port on the WA LNBF

Which part of NC are you from? I've got some Dish and PrimeStar equipment laying around that might interest you.
We had PrimeStar before we had DISH. I haven't seen any of their dishes since the late 90s. When we got DISH they took that PrimeStar dish off and threw it away and used the pole and even the old cable.

There are still loads of them around here in ENC in Mediacom Cable (former TCI Communications) territory; apparently they sold PrimeStar services to areas that were going to take them a long time to build out their cable plant on... Guess the plan worked.

This is now at least 13 threads you have started since March about aiming your dish which begs the question, what's going on? If you are, in fact, going to be a legitimate Dish customer why not just let Dish install the dish? And why start a new thread every time you have a question about essentially the same issue which is, aiming the dish/finding satellites? With all the different answers you have already received in all the other threads and all the different things you claim to have performed, all about essentially the same issue, it's impossible to keep track of knowing what advice has already received been offered and what actions have already been taken. It's like starting from scratch each time trying to reinvent the wheel while spinning your own wheels at the same time. I'm done with this one.

Based on all of his posts, seems like he is trying to figure out how to hack the system so to receive free programming, then post about it on his YouTube channel.

If he want a hobby involving satellite TV, something with better rewards then trying to get into a closed system like Dish, try FTA instead.
