Upcoming Contract Disputes for Dish?

Every provider has price increases every year, some twice a year (Charter this year….again).

The advantage of YTTV is no box charges ( up to 3 TVs at once) along with including the DVR.

Dish really needs to do something about the DVR and box fees, that equipment has been recycled and paid for several times over. At least drop the DVR fee.

1. They need a certain Gross Income.

2. If they drop some fees, they will have to raise others.

3. If you think their dropping fees you don't like will bring in new custies, consider that they have EXPERTS, who are TRAINED in such things, maybe even have applicable degrees in the field, who are paid to make such calculations. My nickel bet is on them to make the least bad choice over any of us.

4. If you think they charge too much, move on. Don't tell a baker why he should sell bread for $1 a loaf and absorb the taxes.

I have Directv and don't get the ESPN Unlimited. I think that's only for people on the streaming side of Directv
correct, it's only for the streaming version of DirecTV and not for traditional legacy satellite customers as DirecTV is trying to rid of either the satellite customers or the satellite service themselves.

Yeah - the last big one that I can recall was Oct, 1, 2022 when they lost the ESPN and Disney channels for a couple of days, and after missing one weekend of football, they came back quickly. I think it wasn't even 3 days and they were back. Part of me wishes it was a 3 year contract so it would come up for renewal this fall and a new deal would bring around ESPN Unlimited...but then at the same time, the next time the contract comes for renewal, it could be a long drawn out removal of the ESPN channels...
Today, Disney was denied an injunction against Dish for the $4.99 daily pass. Reason I bring it up in this thread:

Judge Subramanian noted the solution for Disney is to negotiate a new license that forbids the short term passes. "As the parties agreed at oral argument, that negotiation is around the corner, given that the License expires in less than a year and everyone agrees that the next round of negotiations will need to commence soon."

All that to say - it looks like Dish/Disney will be negotiating in less than a year. Judge denies Disney injunction against Dish over ESPN inclusion in Sling Orange

Dish hasn't really had any big disputes that I can remember in a few years now.

I would love to see when they renew the ESPN deal that we get access to ESPN Unlimited like DIRECTV folks do, as I don't feel like paying an additional $29.99 a month just to watch the WWE Pay Per Views.:D (But thats just me)
Id'e love to see em give ceo's pay cuts!!! all these rate increases are insane
