Anyone know why the Hopper connects to Netflix.com

I don't use Netflix for anything so I'm not sure why the box keeps connecting to it. Is it for analytics or something?

I've been in the TV activity part of the hopper. I've seen a 3rd tuner pop up saying software update but does not say for what. though it does say guide update

To bad it's part of the core package. It would be nice to be able to uninstall it

No need for a sniffer, you can see these things in your firewall or router as long as they aren't too basic. I use pi-hole to allow/deny stuff.

I only block the stuff going to Netflix, not other services. You can block more connections if you want to prevent remote access to the box and things like that but I've left those alone for now.
