Retailer Chat Recap - November 14, 2006

No mention of any new HD channels coming. And from the way that they were talking and the fact that this is the holiday sales season I dont forcast any new HD channels coming before the end of the year. :(

If they were they would be highly promoting things now.

This slide show that Bangor, Maine is on the list of standard Def locals for 2006. Does that mean it will have locals by the end of this year? Also I do not live in that DMA but the local cable network carries abc, nbc, fox from that DMA (We get CBS OTA) Would that mean I would then qualify for locals because cable has those channels? (Just wondering if this could mean a solution to my DNS problem)

I would have to say that this looks like the case.

The next retailer chat is on December 20th. 5 days before Christmas, not much time for retailers to promote new HD services.

I am HIGHLY disapointed that Dish is not even TRYING to get into the Holiday Marketplace.

Hasn't it been this way over the last few years? No new equipment for the Holidays.
I thought if they got the external storage out, they may have been able to sell more 622s.

No it will not come down in price. You can get it as low as $99 with some of the deals they got going on. Try getting a MPEG4 HD DVD from DirecTV for that price. :)
