Wow this one almost snuck by us! But its time for another Dish Network Retailer Chat Recaps.

I should note that today I have a meeting at 12:30, however I am DVRing todays show so anything I miss I can recap later.

As always we will only cover items of interest to you the consumer. We will not cover any dealer sensitive items.

Again if information is missing I will do a better recap later on when I can site down and watch the entire chat.

Ok the chat opens up and they go into talking about a recap of the distants. They say nothing new to report however they want to recap it since they are still gettting questions...

Now talking about CES.

Going over all the announcements from the show (see the screen shot below)

Talking about the Free 622 for new customers as of February 1st.

They say the big buzz at the show was the external hard drive.

Charlotte NC will be launching in a week and a half in HD on 118.7 (Needs a Dish 1000+

Either that was the same buzz heard from last year (CES 2006), or it was the buzzing of angry beesiness partners when they found out this won't be available until July...at earliest.

Jim says that Dish does not make a hoopla about stuff coming down the line such as new HD channels and hardware (Umm Jim all stuff shown at CES was COMING SOON)

Jim says a company has announced 100 national channels by the end of the year. But he does not beleive there will be 100 national channels by the end of the year. Jim says that they have HD plans and will take care of the customer as well. (Hey Jim I want my MHD)

They go over Q1 highlights which is a recap of the last retailer chat.

They mention that the Dish DVR advantage will be available to current customers but they must agre to an 18 month commitment or sign up for Credit Card Autopay.

They explain a little more about Dish DVR Advantage.

Now going over the new marketing kits available to retailers for Q1 of 2007.

Ok some changes to Dish'n It Up (Current customer promotions)

Some up front costs are going up and now a 18 month commitment is required for all Dish'n it up offers.

DishMover is also changing, with an 18 month commitment the Dish Mover is free. With no commitment its $99.

Other things are also moving to an 18 month commitment (see the picture below)

Now on to new customer offers and Pre Pay...

Pre Pay Pricing is changing and they are bringing out a new $40 card.

Yup higher upfront cost but the customer makes it up in the end.

Looking ahead to Charlotte HD locals...looking at those screen caps, does "FSS antenna upgrade" mean the upgrade to a Dish 1000+? Also, does that mean it's free with 18 month committment, or just that the committment is required no matter what the current pricing is?

If the latter, what IS the current pricing for this upgrade?

They are talking about Team Summit which starts May 3rd. This years theme is SimplyBETTER.

They are pushing Team Summit HARD.

Next up its Leslie Harper with this months Tech News...

First she talks about External Storage and says it will be available at the end of Q2 of this year (Hey Jim I thought you didnt promote stuff that wasnt ready!? )

Now Leslie goes over some questions she got on the floor of CES.

Leslie tells installers to program limited mode on cusmters TVs.

She then tells us how to use DishPass.

When does this promotion start, Feb 1? I will jump all over this. So what, I would pay $99 up front and then they give me $10 off per month for 10 months? Is that how it works?
