Well the cat is out of the bag finally, I have just been to the dish network site and finally the new disn'n it up offer is online, it is not what I expected but...

Here it is, price is the same for both shipped or pro installed:

Select a Standard Definition, DVR, or High Definition receiver for one room of service
$49.00 after DISH'n It Up Bonus credit ($99.00 upfront credit card payment)

Select a Standard Definition or DVR receiver for two rooms of service (or "Picture in Picture" for 1 TV)
$69.00 after DISH'n It Up Bonus credit ($119 upfront credit card payment)

Select an HD-DVR for two rooms of service (or "Picture in Picture" for 1 TV)
$99.00 after DISH'n It Up Bonus credit ($149.00 upfront credit card payment)

I was getting a 625 but now for 30 more dollars I think I will get the 622.

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna be exploring the Dish site today.

Just curious why you would consider a 625 if you have a HD set or a 622 if you don't? There is a monthly HD enabling fee for the 622 if you don't subscribe to HD programming.

Hi,

I have the HD set on the bedroom and the reciever on the TV room with all the surround sound equipment so I have to chose picture on the bedroom or sound on the TV room, plus I would need the add satellite as I only have 110 and 119. I go back and forward all the time, but now with the new price I may have made my mind.

Sounds like a smart choice. Not sure if you know this, but the TV2 outputs on the 622 are SD only, which would require the 622 to be near the HD set or use some very long HDMI/component cables.

I have been a Dish customer for sometime now, when they offered the VOOM channels I upgraded my reciever and dish to revieve this programming. Well now they have the HD DVR offer BUT since I have already upgraded once they told me from there INDIA csr center that I am not eligble for the HD DVR upgrade. Does this sound right?!?!? If so I am off to D*.

It says on the dish web page you can dish it up every year so india is wrong.
It will cost you 149 not bad.

Well since I upgraded already within this year I am out of luck. The CSR said the only way I can get a HD DVR is pay full price. Well E* lost someone else. After the SUperbowl I am off to D*. (this really chaps my a**)

Unless my brain isn't working aren't these pretty much the same offers as January 31st (and before), but with a rebate stuck in for $50 worth of the upfront cost?

and what i'm reading, is that if an installer comes in and does it it's an extra $50? For unplugging one and plugging in another?

Not quite !
Previous prices were $49 , $69 and $199 respectivly. So the VIP 622 should be $100 less. Since your paying tax on the hardware the prices of the first two choices have actually gone up. Additionally since the $50 is in the form of some future rebate, we can expect the charming accounting dept. @ Dish to totally SNAFU this .. Expect to spend some time on the phone with your new friends in India !
Been there ...done that ..waiting for my t-shirt !

I believe u do have to wait, either 12 or 18 months before you can "Dish It Up" again. I had the same problem but somebody suggested using the ceo@dishnetwork.com (<====double check that email...i might be wrong because it was awhile ago) and they got back to me within 2 hours saying that I could get the upgrade early (I think I had gotten the 211 5 months earlier). I did have to pay the upfront costs. Its worth a shot.

To redeem the DISH'n It Up Bonus credit you must mail a completed redemption form within 90 calendar days of the date you ordered your upgraded receiver(s) along with a copy of your billing statement indicating qualifying programming.
UGH !!!! There going to make you jump thru hoops to even pretend to get this " rebate " . Nice !

Smells like some more "creative accounting"...they get to claim the extra $50 in income from each upgrade, then can bury whatever rebates they do pay out (and obviously they're anticipating many being lost/rejected/never claimed) somewhere in the loss category that they can write off.

Most people get a "free" install. Dish is quite pushy about requiring an install on the Vip-622. If you already see Sat-129 ( VooM and some other HD channels ) then ya , the installer will simply swap receivers.

So I just called them about the DVR advantage, and here is what I was offered:

I am currently a subscriber (old 60 plus locals plus original HD package) been with them for about 6 years.

DVR Advantage HD
18 mo commitment
$149 up front
$100 rebate (10 months)
So I have to pay $49 for the leased receiver. Installation included, no additional charge.

$49.99 DVR Advantage
$20.00 HD channels
$5 lease fee

I said to the service rep (who was actually very nice) that I thought all fees were included in the $49.99, but she said no since the receiver is leased I have to pay $5. I said forget it.

Anyone else who calls - please post what you are offered here! Thanks

Amazing about that lease fee, I was afraid of that. What part of NO HIDDEN FEES is so hard for them to understand? Are they charging a lease fee on a 522/625 also?

As far as I know, yep...amazing how the "easy no additional fees" offers work:

"Additional fees may apply."

"Additional programming subscriptions, DishDVR service fees and other charges above and beyond the inclusions in the DishDVR Advantage package will continue to be billed separately"

What is the point of having a call center where no one has a clue? Whatever they think they are saving by sending us to India, it's just money down the tube. Total waste. Penny smart and dollar STUPID!
