Well we are still listening to the music on hold as we wait for this long awaited announcement to be made.

The Operator Welcomes us.

Rich Laviene is intruduced. Who introduces Bud Selig (Excuse my spelling of names)

Bud is excited by the launch of the Baseball channel in 2009.

Bud then throws it over to "Bob" DirecTV is proud to extend its contract with MLB for 7 years and will also be launching the Baseball channel in 2009.

DirecTV is going to provide majoe enhancements including a mosiac channel, a strike zone channel.

The baseball channel will be available on DirecTV's basic tier.

It is not exclusive. If DISH and cable are willing to accept old terms they get Ei and the baseball channel. Not sure if the last pa

Bob wants to make 2 points

1st point is there will be no impact on the shows on TBS Fox, Etc or the products on MLB.COM

2nd point is something have been written about this being an exclusive, this is not true other companies such as Dish and Cable can subscribe for the same rates and they can also get the baseball channel. If your company does not get the MLB package its the companies fault not MLB's or DirecTV's.

Now here is Chase Carey,

Chase is happy to bring extra innings to its customers. Sports is the signature of DirecTV. They want to give their customers the best sports experiance possible.

More games will be availble this year, more features, hd, mosaic channel, strike zone channel which tells you whats going around in all of baseball.

This puts the onus on cable and DISH now if DTV is coming out and saying same terms then Dish has no excuse. That should be interesting.
