I had my first listen to HD Radio at the local CC. It was great, when it came in. In the 20 minutes (or so) that I listened, the signal dropped more than it was available. Oh well, I guess that's the downside of trying to showcase it inside a metal building.

Thank you. I'm impressed, I didn't think I'd be able to tell the difference. I'll look for Hybrid Digital in my next home receiver, but I don't think I'll be replacing any car radios.

If you are looking for HD Radio kit for your car you should check out Dice electronics. They have i-pod and hd radio kits that fit with your factory radio so you dont have to buy another aftermarket radio. Its cost effective and great quality. I have one for my Toyota and I love it.

Cost effective? Do you work for them? $200 for an add on kit isn't exactly cheap.

I’m not gonna buy HD radio. Till they comes with those HIFI system with CD changers.. These little expensive boombox’s doesn’t do anything for me! Just wasting money!

Raoul resurrects the dead! ;)

I've come to like my Sirius, too. Good, but not great. My 3 month freebie is about to come to an end. I should get another 3 free months from the dealer. After that, if they're still in business, I might have my employer pay for a year or 2 (company car). But I really suspect they're going down, like the initial Chunnel investors. The next lot to pick up the pieces may make a go of it.

Fry's has had an HD Radio add on kit on sale a couple times for $5 and $10 after rebate. The current JVC HD radio is $150, only $20 more than the nonHD version

I couldn't help it! :D I've been checking out hd radios, looking for one in a good av receiver. Maybe I should consider satellite radio. what is likely to shake out from the xm/Sirius merger?

Bankruptcy. High on the likely outcomes. Stock dropped to around 15 cents. Major loans coming due this year, no clear way of paying them. I wouldn't be surprised if they went under, and someone bought up certain of their assets, and made a go of it, freed from all the debt.

I'm still not convinced Hybrid Digital radio will make it, in it's current incarnation. Still reading about interference and even reception problems. If it had been an option on my last vehicle, I'd have tried it, but it wasn't.
