No, you would not need the DPP44 switch. If it is a DishProPlus head, you would need the switch till you added 3 or more receivers.
Sorry if I was wrong, I thought the main lnb had inputs for the balance of the lnb's with switch built in.
On a Dish 1000 and 1000.2 the lnb has the switch and inputs so that no other switch is needed.... on the 1000+ you need the switch....
Thanks for the clarifaction. I keep getting this confused. Dish 1000, 1000+ or 1000.2 do not work in my area.
Thanks for all of the information guys! So am I right in thinking that if I only want one dish, then it has to be the 1000+ to get the HD stuff, otherwise i would have to get a 1000 or a 1000.2, plus a Dish 500 to get everything. But you are saying if I went the 2 dish route it would not need a switch?
