Never had a problem with Dish signal until I moved to Calgary.

I wanted HD so I bought VIP 211 along with the new dish 1000.2. Can't seem to get good signal. I peaked 199 at around 75, of course that means 129 is roughly at 55 (on a good day). Every time it rains or is really cloudy 129 drops off. I even lose signal on 119 almost every evening now off and on for a few hours.....makes no sense.....

Could this just be because of my location or bad aiming? About 3.5 hour drive north of border here so not really that far north. Any other Canadians have experience with 1000.2? Or can someone give some advice. Really don't want to go to bigger dish.

Thanks Randalla, but I find it hard to believe the signal cuts out at the Canadian border like the map suggests lol. I'm sure signal goes down but if Alaska can get it.....you would think i would have no problem here. Frustrating. Any other Canadians using 1000.2?

Oh no, I'm pretty sure the signal goes all the way to Canada but is it strong enough? All I'm saying is that you need a bigger dish to get better signals. This doesn't apply just to Canada but in general. 129 is a POS that needs to be replaced, SOON.

Ya, I agree with the POS comment. Thought another company would have come out with a similar model by now with bigger pan...guess not.

Where's Canada?

Teevee you are in Canada not in the USA. The delivery of services by E* isn't covered for you. So to get the things you want via E* you are going to have to do things out of the ordinary. You will have to leave the 1 dish idea and go to a larger dish for 129. You are going to need at min a 24" but would be better to go larger. You gotta be a couple hundred miles into C. So that is for sure out of the beam pattern. Alaska don't count in this discussion. They are on spotbeams over there.

Okay thanks. One other quick question. Does it make sense that the signal is fine during the day but drops about 6 points at night?
