622 Phone Line question

I remember reading something a while back about not needing phone lines for all of the receivers in a house (or something to that effect). Is this in place now? I have two 622 receivers now, both have a phone line plugged in.

But I'm in the process of remodeling a bedroom, and the TV will be moved on the other side of the room from the phone jack. Does the second 622 still require a phone line??

Dishcomm. You only need one phone line now. Will not communicate through a UPS.

Not totally true. My 622 thats plugged into the phone line is on a UPS and the 2nd 622 is not. They communicate fine with each other. Maybe if both are on a UPS it wont work, I don't know but with only one on a UPS it will work. At least mine does.

well i couldn't get dishcomm to work properly, i dont have a ups, but i saw some other threads about others not getting them to work for other reasons, so dont rely on dishcomm.
You should test it, by trying to test connection after setting dishcomm up, if it works good, if not you'll need another solution. BTW my symptom was line was busy.
