Hi,

For some reason I'm not getting the SNY feed in HD. I have two 622 receivers and I get all my HD channels for the most part. Occassionaly I have trouble getting Cinemax in HD or the HD Demo Channel but outside of that everything works fine. Since SNY HD launched I can't get the channel on either receiver. I tune to 388 and get an error message stating that the signal has been losted and that its trying to acquire the signal. I've waited and waited but to no avail. I ran a check switch on both receivers, still the same. I disconnected the coax, and unplugged the receivers, ran a check switch, nothing. Any ideas?

I haven't called Dish yet. I figured I'd start here where the members all seem to have a better understanding of the technology then the csrs.

Thanks!

I don't think thats the case. It should be active at all times. I tried to tune to it when there was a game on and had no luck then as well.

It sounds to me that you are having trouble with your antenna pointed to 61.5. That is where the Demo Channel, CinemaxHD and SNY are all located.

No trouble with the Voom channels?

Your dish may need peaking or you may have a bad LNB. You better call Dish.

Ron is correct when he stated that this channel is part time only. It only is active when HD baseball is playing live and at home. I saw it carries pre and post game shows as well. I was watching Thursday night (I was out Friday night) and the game looked great.

It's unfortunate that the channel will not be active again till 7/24 now as tonight and tomorrow CW11 will carry them then the Mets head west. You should see the DishHD logo on the screen all week though. There will however be a HD game via Dish next Saturday on Fox where FoxHD is available. Thats Fox5 (WNYW-DT) for NYC people.

You need
1) to be in NY DMA (actually sny claimed area)
2) subscribe to AT100+ or better and the $20 HD package
3) have a working dish pointed at 61.5

Also Can't See 388 SNY-HD

I'm having the same problem here in Santa Cruz, CA. Eight of the nine new national-beamed RSN-HD channels appeared on my 622 guides on Wednesday, but channel 388 SNY-HD has not as of today.

I called Dish yesterday. Customer and technical support reps said they "have no information" on the new channels, don't know why this one channel wouldn't appear on my receivers, and had no troubleshooting suggestions at all other than to "wait to see if it ever appears".

I didn't find this to be an acceptable solution, so I wrote to the online support mailbox. I'm awaiting a reply.

BTW, I have no problems receiving Cinemax-HD or any channels other than this new #388. Yes, I've rebooted. I subscribe to a high-level package including all high-def programming and all sports networks.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Richard

Your dish MUST be pointed at 61.5 to see SNY HD in the guide. If not, it WILL NOT appear in your guide. Since you're located in Cal. you probably have a dish 1000 that receives signals from the 110, 119, and 129 orbital postions. That is why SNY HD is not showing up in your guide. I live in Vegas and am pointed to 129 and do not see SNY HD in my guide. With your living in Cal, even if you were to point a dish at 61.5, you wouldn't receive any programming on that channel. You have to live in the NY DMA to receive the games in HD. Everyone else is out of luck. It's the same for all of the HD RSN's. Unless you live in that RSN's "market", you'll never see anything on those channels.

BTW, you're receiving Cinemax HD because that channel is also on 129.

Your dish probably needs to be readjusted. The message is a warning sign that this is probably the case, unless you were having severe weather at the time. Call E* and have them schedule someone to come out and take a look at it. You may also be able to do it yourself if the dish is easy to get to.

Bruin,

According to the uplink report on these new HD-RSNs, Fox-PT (Pittsburgh) is also on 61.5. I'm receiving Fox-PT on channel 378, but not SNY-HD on 388.

I understand the MLB blackouts. I was hoping to watch the pre-game and post-game programming which I hear is showing on the new SNY-HD channel.

Thanks for the help!

Fox-PT is on the 129 (TP8) as well as the 61.5 (TP30). SNY HD is only on the 61.5.

Aren't the RSN HD channels only for your own local sports areas? If you live in CA. I don't think you can have SNY in HD . Only your local RSN's .

You can sign up for the Multi Sports Package which would give you all the RSN's (including HD, if available). Professional sports games would be blacked out if you didn't live in the teams DMA but you would get other programming. As far as HD goes, E* is only showing the games plus pre and post game shows at this time. So in CA, if pointed at 61.5, you would only see the pre and post games shows on SNY HD.

I'm also having the exact same problem w/ SNY HD. I tried to call E* and they tried to tell me it was blacked out. Can't be the case because I was getting the SD feed w/ no problems. I did a check switch and a receiver reboot to no availe. I guess I'l try and call E* again and hopefully get someone who knows a little more about there product. How much would it cost if they need to repoint my dish?? If its alot i just might forgo SNHHD since i'm not a Mets fan. Hopefully I won't have this problem on Aug 15th.

Once again, if you live OUTSIDE of the DMA of SNY HD you won't see ANYTHING on that channel PERIOD.
Thats what I thought. I can't see anyother RSN's except my local one. Directv you can get a sports pack to view all the RSN's in Standard Definition ONLY. HD RSN's are only avilable in your local sports areas. I'm guessing Dish is the same way.

I didn't even know Dish had a Sports pack for thr RSN's. Where would I find this info?

With subscriptions to the respective sports packages, I do get the SNY SD channel on both Dish and DirecTV. While all Mets games are blacked out on Dish, pre-games and post-games (often including the end of the games themselves) are indeed viewable here in Santa Cruz, CA. That's what I was expecting to get in HD when Dish bragged about their new 9 national RSN-HD channels.

I really don't understand why Dish would make all the other announced HD-RSNs (like Pittsburgh's Fox Sports... Pittsburgh???) available nationwide but not SNY. Hopefully DirecTV will switch to the high-def feed full time with their big HD rollout in September.

Thanks for the help in determining why I can't get Dish's SNY-HD channel 388. As usual, Dish Network "support" was absolutely worthless. "We don't have any information on these channels" and "wait and see if it ever appears" left me rolling my eyes in frustration. Then again, DirecTV's "support" is equally inept.

Fox Sports Pittsburg is not available nationwide, you only get Pirate games if you live in Pirate territory. If the pre and post games are available nationwide it is because in western PA. E* customers get Fox Pitt on 129 sat. and in Eastern Pa. they get Fox PItt on 61.5.

NY Mets home territory includes all of NY state, NE Pa., most of NJ, and most of Conn. These areas cannot get 129 so there is no need to put SNY on both 129 amd 61.5

Same thing in Florida, Sunshine and Fox sports Florida are only on 61.5 because people living there cannot get 129.

when NESN goes up it will only be on 61.5 as New England cannot get 129.
