My HR22-100 is really slow like yours also. It also seems that if I am watching a SD channel that the guide runs alot faster. Probably a software error, or all of the HR22 are hosed.

If it was me, I would just run a long phone line for a little while let it do it thing then unplug it. Or hook it up to an internet connection for alittle bit. Why risk chance of coming home from work one day ready to watch the big game, then the box nagging you to plug it into a phone line...

Yeah, it is the 290 version, it downloaded when I installed the box. Sometimes it will go a few minutes on some channels like every 5+ minutes or so before having a stutter. My wife does not notice them, but when I rewind a couple times for her she can.
