HMU with a cardcover man ! mine looks fugly without it..

well I know that.. but since these ARE directv receivers no doubt they have duds... I imagine a graveyard of Genies (!)

It seems I either ripped it off or I bought it this way, but the plastic cover for the card reader of my Genie is missing, I emailed Directv and sadly they cannot send me the part. I wonder if someone here from either member or site sponsor can help me. Thanks Activ8

since I have the 3lnb slimline swm dish, can I buy the 5 lnb and connect it to the dish, or is a brand new dish needed ? I think this will do the trick

Well I think I need to change the LNB's as well... according to this manual: here you cannot input a SWM lnb straight to the swm16 switch.... :( right ?

I bought a Genie on ebay ( yes it is leased) , had it activated on my account, but my swim8 is not sufficient to run my setup. So I was told to get a swm16. for some reason, if you look on ebay, you see the 16port swm, but you also get two 8 ports with it... that got me confused. I have four...

$199. With Duh!!! Two years. And then you still dont own it ;(. Give it up for capitalism ! Lol

I bought a hr-24. If you gotta pay,might as wrll have something good, got off the Directv site. It'll give me the opportunity to record even more shows once mom and dad leave ;) Thanks guys

I have three HR24's on my account for my house.... now have my mom and dad staying with me for a while ( 6months) and I would like for them to get TV too. They don't need HD perse, but need the ability to pause and record shows.. I do have whole home DVR, but I watch shows they don't care...

Well you know... 3 days for a service call in my opinion is too long specially since I already know the equipment will be changed out.. I am hooked up component, but going back to the TV, it's an LG 42" plasma, with three HDMI inputs, I have tried a known working HR24 on it, it works fine...
