CE's for the Weekend of 1/29

MRV is definitely cool, but definitely requires hard wired network. Wireless is too unstable. Perhaps Wireless N would be better, but it's much cheaper to run a cable through the attic! :)

CE's for the Weekend of 1/29

What's the news on the 1/29 CE release? I must have missed my e-mail or something.

    HR2x / R22 CE Release 1/22

Hey, Mark. We're talking about the CE updates. Ones which we force our receivers to install. Once installed, DirecTV needs to authorize your reciever(s) to use the features in these updates. A lot of these are considered "High Risk" meaning you should know what you're doing or at the very...

    HR2x / R22 CE Release 1/22

Little update on my end. Using HR22 and an H21. Replaced the wireless bridge on the H21, and things seems to be running much better, even HD, no choppiness or anything. Both are wireless G bridges connecting to a Wireless N router. All seems well. I also noticed better response from the...

    signal in Central America

I'd be willing to bet not many of us have RV'd down to Nicaragua or Costa Rica to begin with! :) But ... you'd think that because the birds will still be south of where you'll be, I don't think you'll be within the footprint of signal. Check it out. KVH Satellite Footprint Maps - TracVision...

SL3 LNB on a Phase III dish - another success story

I had to do a rig for my RV and bought the SL3PIG LNB. I've read in a few place where people did this with success. At first I had my doubts. Mounted it up to the dish, LNB stuck out a little bit and tried to align with 101 but no hit. After about 30 minutes, took it down and aligned with...

    HR2x / R22 CE Release 1/22

Okay, apparently, what I was watching worked decent over wireless as far as HD is concerned. But watched another HD program and it was pretty choppy. SD works smooth, though. I'll definitely be looking into hard wiring.

    HR2x / R22 CE Release 1/22

So far so good. I've networked my HR22-100 and H21. I have a wireless G bridge on both going through a wireless N router (D-Link DIR-615). HD viewing has occasional hiccups, initially. But pretty responsive considering I'm running over a wireless network. Now that it works, I'm considering...

DirecTV web site finally put up page about multiroom viewing

I don't think they should charge any more than a buck. Any more, I'd be better off piggy backing off of my already paid DVR monthly fee and upgrade the bedroom receiver to a DVR ... Us technical folk already did the hard part ... network the receivers! Not like we're using any more of their...

CE's for the weekend of 1.22

Oh, forgot, I'm mostly interested in beta testing the multi-room feature, which would be a big bonus in this house! Just need to hook up the H21 to the network and I should be good to go.... :)

CE's for the weekend of 1.22

Well, I'll chime in. First time doing CE - so far so good. Just finished on my HR22-100. Waiting for wife to finish watching TV on the H21 so I can get that bugger done. :)

Welcome New Members! (Please Say HI here!)

Hey everyone! Been around, checking things out. Not exactly new to the scene but new to the forums. I have a DirecTV HR22-100, R15-300 and two H21 receivers. Thought I'd give the latest CE a go and help out. I've been with DirecTV since the late 90's - can't wait for TiVo to make a return...
