The biggest difference is the hard drive size, I know you can do your own upgrade, but the Hughes DVR 120 comes stock with a 120 gig HD for 100 hrs of stuff.. I got one of them and a 35 hr one as well. Also the Hughes has a nice door for the smartcard I think one other does not..

I agree it does seem if you really want HD, cable is very competetive, I heard scientific atlantic is realeasing a cable HD DVR. They have more locals the at least Dish, not sure about Directv. If you add in MSGHD, they have an advantage in some aspects. Yikes..

Someone mentioned about the mets in HD (msgHD). YES Network wil begin doing Yankee games in June or July in HD and then Nets game in the fall in HD as well. It remains to be seen who will actually carry this HD feed.

Thanks, glad I am not out of my mind. Others should try these as well. Not being able to extend a timer usually isn't a big deal on HBo, most shows end early, but Sunday nights Sex shows was an example of needing the extension..

Actually I could be watching for like 5 minutes and hit skip back once and it just sits and waits. Other times it works fine. I just kicked and rebooted the thing last week because it was acting sluggish. I think I am going to directivo so that I can get YES network soon anyway.. Bill
