Does Size Really Matter? Needing Help Identifying This Local C - Band Dish Size

The average door height is 80" or 6'8" by code. that dish is slightly larger than the door height so probably a 7-7.5' dish by my eye.

Does Size Really Matter? Needing Help Identifying This Local C - Band Dish Size

Looks like a 7.5' dish to me. All of the 7.5' dishes I've had the feedhorn supports attach to the rim of the dish like that. All of the 10' dishes I've had the supports are inboard of the rim by about 8-10" or so.

Titanium Satellite Titanium ASC1 Positioner Troubleshooting

Thanks, Brian. I agree those were great troubleshooting suggestions. KE4EST is correct. My auto ranging multimeter is too slow to see the voltage. I have figured out what the problem is. Seems I have an intermittent short in one of the motor wires. Best I can figure is that it is occurring at...

Titanium Satellite Titanium ASC1 Positioner Troubleshooting

I haven't had time yet today, but i can try later. From what I understand from searching the forum, it should at least put out a voltage for 1/2 second across M1 and M2 then stop if either the sensor or sensor circuit was not working. Does that sound right?

Titanium Satellite Titanium ASC1 Positioner Troubleshooting

Everything else seems to be working. Polarity control is fine. Unit powers up. Just doesn't move the dish. The actuator indeed works with another controller. Stinks because it is less than 1 year old and it would be nice to figure out what happened so I can repair it.

Titanium Satellite Titanium ASC1 Positioner Troubleshooting

Thanks. I assumed that was how it was supposed to work. I will see if I can dig up a momentary switch and check the sensor circuit. I have also connected the ASC1 directly to the actuator as well as a good spare with a short piece of ribbon cable on my bench and it gives the E/W error on both...

Titanium Satellite Titanium ASC1 Positioner Troubleshooting

Hello. I am on my second ASC1. The first one stopped powering on after a severe electrical storm. I the saw that they were being discontinued so i bought a refurbished one from Titanium's site instead of repairing the original. Now the refurbished unit will not move the dish. Gives the E/W limit...

NBC Affiliates on Ku-Band Satellite (1997)

Look at the chart. There was one transponder that was a test card used to identify the satellite. The rest of the transponders were available to anyone to rent for a fee. Are you just going to pick another satellite and ask the same question over and over?

NBC Affiliates on Ku-Band Satellite (1997)

The only people who would know which specific affiliate leased what satellite/transponder when would be whichever company owned SBS-4 at the time, possibly the television station themselves. I really doubt they would tell you who rented which transponder 20 years ago. It never was published...
