2 FTA Receivers and 2 single ouput LNBFs

Happy New Year to all. Ok, I couldn't come up with a better title for this thread, but I hope some of you could help me with my problem. This is about a local church and their need to receive 2 FTA feeds. Current setup is a Pansat 2700 and DiSEq switch, with a prime focus dish for EWTN...

    C-band digital EWTN on Galaxy 11 - 91ºW

Nice setup :) I hope I can soon get a hold of one of those conical rings, I can't wait to get aboard the mini-bud train! By the way, I found what seems to be a used 6ft prime focus steel dish earlier today, built from at least 12 "petals". Saw it on my way to work on the roof of what...

    C-band digital EWTN on Galaxy 11 - 91ºW

Thanks for the input iceberg and pmb1010 :hatsoff: I will get them a solid 6 footer prime focus dish and try my BSC 621-2 on it. if it works, I will just leave that lnbf there, since I don't have a conical scalar ring for my offset dishes; I am still waiting in line for when those rings...

    C-band digital EWTN on Galaxy 11 - 91ºW

pmb1010, I take you are talking about a 4 footer offset dish. Are you using one of those conical scalar rings with the BSC 621-2 or the stock flat one that comes with it? I recently bought that dual C/KU lnbf but haven't tried it yet on my offset dishes due to the lack of a proper holder and the...

    C-band digital EWTN on Galaxy 11 - 91ºW

I am trying to setup (donate) a C-band digital system to a church (west coast) so they can watch the domestic and international EWTN feeds on G11, Transponder 11C as shown on their website. I think any of the current crop of digital FTA receivers and a good C-band LNBF should do the job, but...

    New set up SG2100 motor.

Yes, for motor elevation you would use the "elevation" scale on the right side. The scale on the left side is your "latitude", which is pretty much 90º minus elevation. Edit: GRRRR, PSB beat me by a couple of seconds! :)

    New set up SG2100 motor.

Success!!! I finally got it working, thanks to all for your tips. I simply followed LordAlex and STB's advise and my dish is tracking the satellite arch nicely. 6 easy steps: 1- Checked and rechecked pole being plumb 2- SG2100 @ my exact latitude using its mount scale and pointing magnetic...

    New set up SG2100 motor.

LordAlex, Interesting... given your particular example, my dish should be set at 25.5º up from vertical, while true south. It all makes sense now. The scales on dishes are meant to be used while attached to a plumb pole. My particular dish, as you can see on the picture I posted above, does not...

    New set up SG2100 motor.

Craig, but you ARE a lot of help! It's just that I am a total newbie when it comes to setting up dishes... but it's fun, so I am looking forward to getting it working (with a little of your kind help, that is). Ok, back to the issue at hand... this is what the manual for my SG2100 says...

    New set up SG2100 motor.

PSB, I think I am the psychic now... somehow I knew the only way to aim this dish would be by trial and error with a sat finder or the receiver's signal meter. :( Craig, thanks for the clarification regarding the 30º/40º degrees issue. Now, one final question before I get back on the roof. I...

    New set up SG2100 motor.

Another new SG2100 installation Ok, so I finally acquired a SG2100 motor and a used 1m Winegard offset dish for my micro BUD adventure. According to the printed manual that came with the SG2100, the motor should be set to my latitude (27º N / 63º elevation), and the dish to 30º minus...

looking for a conical scalar ring for c-band

New guy, first post. I am learning a lot in this fine forum and I am looking forward to setting up an offset dish for c/ku band fta reception. Several posts mention this conical feedhorn for C-band reception on an offset dish. Just as the original poster on this thread stated, I am also...
