I tried a little experiment awhile back and maybe it's just my eyes but I could not notice the difference between my OTA locals vs through Dish for quality of HD. Granted it was not a full scientific measurement experiment.

I'm in one of those local markets but don't give a rat's a.. about ABC (never watch it) and with FOX I only watch 49er games. I wondered why the 49er game today did not record. I have OTA so if I really need to watch their future games I can do it that way...although I hate watching anything...

What's up with NBCSN? I only watch Hockey but the few times I've recorded and watched the freaking broadcast appears to be in SD with black bars all around it. I searched and didn't find out any threads related to this.

Your suggestion will work. It's 3 1/2" to the edge of rafter and the outside mounting holes are 4" oc. I could slightly angle the screws into the rafter and put some silicone around the head so no moisture leaks in because of the slight angle. I'll use stainless steel also. ?It's been like...
