D* guy shows up unannounced and wants to replace my multiswitch

I'll have to do that. The installer said that I wasn't the first to send him away; in fact, he said that sometimes he replaces a switch on a perfectly functioning system and everything goes to heck, so he understood my concern.

D* guy shows up unannounced and wants to replace my multiswitch

Tech said that HR22 has issues when only one tuner used--is this correct?

Hi all, Had an HR22 installed as a replacement for a receiver gone bad, but it would not set up properly (hung during satellite setup). The tech said that was common with HR22s set up to use only one tuner. We ended up putting my HR21 at that location and the HR22 replaced the HR21 (which...

Complete loss of reception in cold weather

Three receivers... What exactly do you think is affected by the cold temperatures to cause this failure?

Complete loss of reception in cold weather

Well, it's happened again. Everytime it gets below about 10 degrees F, I lose reception (triple-LNB HD dish). If I drag the space heater out to the porch and warm up the LNBs, reception returns. Two questions: 1) Anyone else experience this? 2) Anyone tried to get D* to replace the...
