I use a Harmony remote, and find that it has problems some times. Not really sure what circumstances cause the problems, but I have had instances where it would not work even inches away. The problem only occurs for a few minutes and is fairly rare ( few times a week).

I know there are some HD stations that would be a nice addition, but for the most part everything that has actual content in HD is already there. People are just number chasing now, how many non HD channels broadcast any significant amount of HD programming?

There would have to be a LOT more functionality for the extra $200 that it would require to go with D*. The fact that the 722 is 200 less for a customer, and functionally better is a no brainer

You can't expect a dish box that is designed to receive sat signals, but happens to have a OTA tuner to work as well as a brand new top of the line $6000 TV.

I would not mind if dish and ATT went on some joint venture, but I think I would feel better about the whole thing if the same people (Charlie) were running things.

I think that D* is waiting to start a free HD-DVR offer until this deal is anounced. I have heard a lot of people say they will move to D* if they had a free HD-DVR, and an equal number if dish would merge with the evil ATT.
