Tunning tv channels from Taiwan & Hong Kong

Thanks for your advice. NHK is a nice channel if it had been the 'local version', but what is offered on 58w is the 'international version', i've seen it before. Has nice news segments but often blurred when they refer to some events due broadcasting rights i.e. Olympics, football matches, etc...

Tunning tv channels from Taiwan & Hong Kong

I had a hunch that such claim could had been like you said just plain advertising. Well, its a common practice on any business to do that. I dont have enough experience on FTA so i will try different models to see how they fare. I didn't know that the hole had little significance. But i...

    FTA book?

Hello. Im quite new to this forum, and like you i have also been looking for a a nice FTA book, or at least the one which would cover most of the topics that are in the scope of any satellite tv enthusiast. I believe the subject by itself might be tricky to illustrate using layman terms in some...

Tunning tv channels from Taiwan & Hong Kong

Thanks, i visited Geosatpro's website and looks a solid receiver. The LNBF i mentioned from Amazon is from X2, but not "Strong", i guess they had an error writing the brand. No idea on reviews from X2 products. On their site they list many kinds of LNBF's for Ku band...

    FTA Books

I havent seen anybody post updates on this thread since 2010. I am also interested on finding nice books on FTA. These are the ones that look promising, haven't read any of them yet though, Build Your Own Free-to-Air (FTA) Satellite TV System by Dennis C. Brewer...

Wow! a 10 ft dish for those four digit frequencies?. Where can i get those Ku band antennas?. They dont seem to be available on Amazon. Would this LNB be a good choice for me?. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0089DYOCA/?tag=satell01-20 I have read in this forum, can't remember the post that some...

Tunning tv channels from Taiwan & Hong Kong

I didn't know that. I thought all channels on Roku were available regardless the location. It looks that i am cornered in terms of channels diversity. That sucks. Is it possible to bypass that problem using a proxy on internet access that i already have?. Yeah, it would be nice to read what...

Tunning tv channels from Taiwan & Hong Kong

I haven't tried Roku. Has anyone had any experience with it?. I have browsed Roku's webpage, but more or less its about the same as what is being offered on Ku/C band satellites on my region. That goes for DishWorld Mandarin, DishWorld Taiwanese and Dishworld Cantonese. The other options you...

Tunning tv channels from Taiwan & Hong Kong

I have seen their programming on tvmao and so far looks decent but around the same quality as CCTV 1, morning news, some documentaries, and drama in the afternoon and movies. But i can't tell which version of Jiangsu Tv you're talking, because their international version is almost exact as CCTV...

Tunning tv channels from Taiwan & Hong Kong

I didn't know that. Thanks for the suggestion. Although CCTV is not from Taiwan but mainland China and their programming even local (CCTV 1) isn't that great either. People in China prefer to watch Hunan TV, Zhejiang TV, or even Japan/Korea television, weird isn't it?. All those are Telstar 18...

Tunning tv channels from Taiwan & Hong Kong

Years ago i used to have CCTV 4 when i was subscribed to a local terrestrial cable service in my country, but their programming is very low quality if you know what i mean. They only show culture oriented documentaries, news, CCP editorials (well its mainland china), traveling shows (a-la TLC)...

Tunning tv channels from Taiwan & Hong Kong

Usually international version of most channels offer a crappy programming. Sorry to use that word. But most of it is filled with culture oriented programs, public affairs, and news. Rarely they show their best stuff. Even sports events, like football matches are often pix-elated or censored...

Tunning tv channels from Taiwan & Hong Kong

Judging from the preceding answers i got yes i can get some chinese language channels like what the guy from below just said. But all those, ATV World, ETTV America and CCTV4 don't have the programming i am aiming to. These channels only offer PR shows and news, excluding most of the good...
