DishLatino - SYFY - Eastern Arc

So I see channel 5329 SYFY is on sat 110. Let me just gripe that it is absurd to have the different channel mappings (it makes the channel mapping confusing) - why can we just have channel 122?

Dish Network Expands Local High Definition Markets

61.5 for Columbia and other locals I have one of the old dish 1000s that points to 129, 119, & 110. Is 61.5 the type of sat where I can point a single dish at it and be able to find/receive it?

Over/Under: Will E* have it's six announced HD Locals up by Q1 2008?

Good point only only being able to record one OTA at one time.

Over/Under: Will E* have it's six announced HD Locals up by Q1 2008?

I much rather have national HD channels like CNN, SciFi and the like instead of local HD -- to get locals people should use a HD antenna--just my opinion.

    SuperDISH Information

If you are getting a 622 then they'lll need to get you a dish 1000 unless if you live on the extreme coasts and cannot see 129.

    Dish 1000

You'll have to have a DP44 switch to do the distribution and be able to "split" the single cable into your new 622.

    Best RG6?

RG6 Cable The guys are right in saying it wouldn't be worth changing out cables for what you might gain in signal strength. You are only running 100' so even if you have several dB of loss it more than likely will not be noticeable. But if you have a burning hair, then change to a cable that...

    Dish 300 @ 105

Is it true that you cannot point a Dish 300 at 105°? I've heard it cannot be done but I was hoping to use my Dish 1000 to get 110,119, & 129. Com'on -- I hope sombody out there has firgured out a way to do it. I hate Superdishes -- if not I'll just have to wait for the locals to migrate to 110.

Does DISH activate receivers on Saturdays & Sundays?

Yes, as long as you can get a hold of a CSR.

    Pointing a Dish1000

You'll definely want to get some sealant (I usely get clear) to insure you do not get weather damage. I also usely get machine screw and bols for the installation to secure the dish better than wood screw or the like.
