    $10 HBO going away???

Guys, I've been on the HBO $10/month promotion for YEARS. It was supposed to be a "forever" deal as far as I know. However, I just got notified via email today that it is expiring in 3 months. Did anyone else get this email? Does anyone have any verbiage from the deal that talks about an...

Definitive answer about PPV on multiple receivers? DiRT?

For sure! I'm a boxing fan and am well aware of what this is going to be. I wasn't planning to order it but my son and some of his buddies from college (only about half an hour away) were wanting to see it and I told them I'd buy it if they wanted to come out. It's easier than them trying to...

Definitive answer about PPV on multiple receivers? DiRT?

It isn't that ordering online is that inconvenient...I guess I just wish I could get an answer from DIRT. I don't order PPV often enough for it to be a big issue.

Definitive answer about PPV on multiple receivers? DiRT?

Yeah, I'd love for DiRT to chime in to confirm. It is a bit disconcerting ordering a $99 PPV on multiple TVs. Years ago, I was at a friend's house and it would only come up on the TV he ordered the fight on. He called Dish and they told him that he would have to pay for it on other TVs. After...

Definitive answer about PPV on multiple receivers? DiRT?

Guys, I've searched. I've googled. I've yet to find a definitive answer. If I order a PPV like the McGregor-Mayweather fight on one of my receivers, will it be viewable on my other receivers? It seems like in the past I would have to order it via the website in order for it to be turned on...

Help me help my dad - RC73 remote / audio question

UPDATE: For those asking, this is an older receiver. It doesn't support HDMI control. It doesn't even have digital audio input. Like I said, it is old--from the mid 1990s. Also, I texted my dad and told him to call DirecTV and explain the issue to see if he could get a tech to walk him...

Help me help my dad - RC73 remote / audio question

Ok, thanks. Maybe we'll go that route. It still seems like a huge step backwards to not support audio receivers in the newer remotes. I just don't understand it. Why would it even let you program the remote to supposedly control an audio receiver (it let's me pair it to the Pioneer receiver...

Help me help my dad - RC73 remote / audio question

Another question: does DirecTV make a decent universal remote that will work with the new Genies via RF? I'm seeing one called an RC32RF. Will that work? If not, is the rc6x the best way to go for a DirecTV specific universal remote? Thanks in advance!

Help me help my dad - RC73 remote / audio question

Then I have to ask: What is the point of allowing you to configure an audio receiver in the settings?

Help me help my dad - RC73 remote / audio question

Alternately, is there a way to look up and manually enter codes into the RC73 for an audio receiver?

Help me help my dad - RC73 remote / audio question

It is my understanding from reading online that you have to program the TV before you will have the option to program the audio system--or at least before it will work. As I said above, it lets me go through and set up the Pioneer VSX455 audio receiver...it has the exact model listed...but it...

Help me help my dad - RC73 remote / audio question

I'm a Dish Network guy and have been for close to 20 years. But my 70-year-old parents just got DirectTV. The system they got has a Genie RC73 remote. The installer programmed it to work with their Sony TV. All of that is fine. However, they have an older Pioneer receiver (model VSX-455)...

    Strange remote issue on VIP722k

Nope, not a Vizio tv. It is a Sony. I've PMing with one of the DiRT guys so hopefully we will get it figured out. The switch on the remote is set to UHF and the System Info screen says it is IR/UHF. I don't think there is a way to turn off IR. I don't see one.

    Strange remote issue on VIP722k

I have a VIP 722k DVR. For a while my remote (a 21.0 IR/UHF) has been flakey. It doesn't seem to respond. I have to either hold the buttons down a long time or hit them multiple times. Here's what is strange: I accidentally discovered that when I put my hand over the IR sensor on the remote...
