    NFL Sunday Ticket Question

My problem with ST is that it will either remain at the same price or go up but the quality of product has suffered. Two points: 1. More games are moving to national telecasts. There is now a 3rd game on Thanksgiving (1 less on ST that Sunday) and an extra game on Monday night in the first...

    MPEG4 / Phoenix AZ

Thanks, fkostyn - D* Turned on 389 for me.

    MPEG4 / Phoenix AZ

Odys: In Maricopa Co, the only distant service they will turn on is Fox ch89 (LA Fox HiDef) .... they will not turn on 88 (NY HiDef) or the 380s (NY & LA Standard Def feeds) unless you live in some seriously remote areas of Arizona.

Idea For List Of Directv Channels To Add

How about a renumbering of channels to group catagories together?

    MPEG4 / Phoenix AZ

DrWho- Are you in the Phx area? Did D* quote you the price and offer an appointment to install the 5LNB & Receiver? Fox 10 is a Fox Own/Operated station so they don't care if you watch LA's Fox station. I'm on my 4th request for waivers on chs 5/12/15 and they keep turning me down.

What will you do if D* doesn't announce new national HD channels today???

I'm as equally as frustrated with the current lineup of channels (ie, if you can deliver 17 religion and shopping channels, you can get me TNT-HD). Having said that, I'd bet that D* won't make significant leaps in national HD content until the industry hits some target for HDTVs sold. From a...

    Channel 1000?

What are the 2000+ channels? I see them in the program guide -- they are obviously for the new boxes. The content looks like they are foreign progamming.

An update from Scott at CES

Great info Scott. Damn D* and it's NFL contract; I wish I could drop 'em. How do you go to your industry's biggest event with bush-league people, products and presentations? This is a window into their whole operation. If the marketing people read these posts, get your act together and fly...

    DTV with Time Warner internet?

cpt_roo is right. Everything that I've read in the other forums and boards is that the 5 LNB can't be diplexed. To answer WIN1983 .... Both parked on the street. D* guy was more senior with installs. Neither of them had a professional appearence. Both were pleasant/joking about it and...

Phoenix AZ MPEG4 rollout: any progress?

Amen. I always laugh at why anyone spends time on weather related to Phoenix. XM ch 224 always gives about 20 secs and moves on - "It's sunny with 70+ temps, now your traffic alerts ...."

    Ces ?

As usual, Longhorn ... your posts are the most informative of anyone else on this site.

Phoenix AZ MPEG4 rollout: any progress?

I'm in Phoenix metro area and I've pressed D* a few times to quote me a date -- the firmest I received was an 'off-the-record' date from a D* tech of 3/1. I'm skeptical. To be honest, the fact that most network shows are on hiatus until February doesn't leave much reason to pine away for the...

Just checking..anyone get the $100 MIR yet

Called the same number above. Placed on hold for a few minutes, 'researched' for a few minutes more, then issued the $100 credit directly to my bill. He asked that I be honest and rip up the check if it shows up. These retention reps are great - polite, empathetic, knowledgable. They should...

PBS You goes dark Wednesday, 12/15

I'm not anti-religious programming but I count 9 religion channels in the TotalChoice current lineup. It seems like overkill for a segment that I assume gets poor ratings compared to what could be in that bandwidth. SkyAngel probably does a better job at delivering programming to this market.

    DTV with Time Warner internet?

I had CoxCable highspeed running on the same line as D* for 2+ years. No problems - I was generally getting the max download speeds while watching D*. Good call fkostyn [below] ... MPEG4 changes this. They will have to be separate if you convert -- it's a good idea to future-proof since...
