Why does North Dakota not have an NFL team?

Careful...we have nuclear-armed bombers up here, too.

    5-07-08 HD Rumors.

I do agree...ESPN News is rather pointless. How many ESPNs are really needed, anyway?

Got the smoker fired up last weekend

I picked up an offset to learn how to smoke, so I found a coffee-bourbon rub that worked great on a pork loin. From the guys @ Smoking Meat Forums - Welcome to Smoking Meat Forums!, the best tip I found was to rub regular mustard all over the meat before putting on the rub. Turned out great, and...

How to record shows from my 622 DVR onto my laptop??

Next step beyond the DVD recorder is to have video editing software that can extract from the disc and into the editor, where it can be converted for mobile devices.

Usa Hd And Scie Fi Hd

A lot of the stuff I've seen on USA is in HD, including Monk. The 4:3 version may have been an older episode, and I know Burn Notice's first season was shot in 4:3 SD, though it's supposed to be HD for season 2. We'll see...

    Microsoft Zune

Like mine as well...picked it up new for $119 on a clearance. Great buy. And as to the downloading of music, I prefer Amazon over iTunes. I've never had a problem finding accessories (and a lot of car stereos have aux inputs now anyway). I really like the wireless sync as well.

    As to new HD

About three summers ago, the dish went out of alignment in late April...never bothered to have it retuned until just before football started. So, no big deal if not much lights up. It's not like we "need" HDTV...we need food and shelter, so it's something that's nice to have, but not needed.

    CNN: DOJ approves merger

What are these tape and record players you speak of? But seriously, this is good news. I definitely will be looking more closely now, especially if they come up with the cheaper packages for those of us who don't have an overly long time in the car every day.

I'm the Idiot Who Bought an HD-DVD Player

I cut the rest of the post to save the space apparently needed so desperately for downloads. :D But on to the matter at hand. The difficulty has been the bandwidth available. But did you know the bandwidth is available? The problem has been in curb-to-home connections. There is plenty of fiber...

I'm the Idiot Who Bought an HD-DVD Player

And that's what was said about music downloads about 10 years ago. Now CD sales have plummeted and iTunes, Amazon, Wal-Mart et al are doing a booming business in downloadable MP3s. To deny the technology is here today is to deny the future, and to say it'll never happen is like those who said...

    HD percentage

Actually saw a 32" tube @ WallyWorld yesterday...was so surprised I had to turn around and look again to be sure I wasn't mistaken.

    Pissed at Dish!!

I didn't like the idea of wiring a rotor, so I just purchased a big antenna to get four of the locals, then added the small UHF from Radio Shack for the other one, which is 180 from the other four, then hooked both into the same cable with a splitter. Needed a gain booster for one of the far...

    Toshiba's Response to Warner's Announcement

You can rant all you want...see the future, Danny. I've heard this from your ilk before, and it's always been proven wrong. If you missed it, I said dish and cable delivery to hard drive, and I own those movies now, and can store them on my drives. If I dump one company for another, I can find a...

    Toshiba's Response to Warner's Announcement

Screw 'em all Physical media? A dying delivery system. I may have some HD-DVD discs, but I look to the future as being downloadable, deliverable over dish (or cable) to my DVR and hard drive. When it comes down to it, technology has already outstripped the need for Blu-Ray or HD-DVD. Most of my...
