MPEG4 is the key. thats where all the problems are..
PS. I spoke to Adv tech support (transfered from HD group) but it seems no one is familair with the product yet.
Here is my quick review after a few days of usage of issues.
Background:
Im hooked up with Monster HDMI cable, thats the only connection back to TV. Ive been using the same connection with a H20 for the past 9 months.
After booting up, picture looked as good as the H20 (but not dull like...
I just got the HR20 this weekend also and noticed you can get it to resume where you left off but but the only way i got it to work was by clicking guide and changing the station to whatever i wanted and when i went back, it resumed. I'm still learning this interface, but right off the bat...
Ok as i said, i spoke with Rentention and they sending me a Hr20 for free, but they have to have a tech come "install" it. so i need to wait. They said if i went to BB and got it, they cant credit me back 299.00
I asked about the MPEG4 issues and she (the agent in CRG) said she doesnt see...
How the heck did you get a HR20, i just called yesterday and they said they are not available yet. I think it's time to speak to retention. Just wondering, does the Interactive work?
I did do this, but it doesnt resolve the problem, nor switching to component cable, but with the native format, its so slow when switching stations to keep on, i like that but its so slow when switching lets say from 96 (1080i) to 73 (720p).
With no answer to the mpeg4 stuff in site im getting quite dissapointed in DTV. I been a customer since 98, but if the are going to increase rates and stuff they need to PROVIDE.
Last night when i came home I noticed that all 4 local mpeg4's were off (blank) and 96 had a message "we are working on the problem" . I called customer support and they said there was a major fiber cut along the east coast and that is why the feeds are out. Its how the mpeg4 channels are...
My install is very simple. The new dish was mounted right in the spot on wall where the old 3 lnb was. Something else to NOT get excited about tonight. First rain storm and 2 minutes before the rain started all the sats were out. I guess having bigger dish didnt matter to south fla...
I have the latest; i forced it download just to be sure. I think this is just one of the problems with mpeg4, but the codec example really explains it best.
I just got the new mpeg4 dish and there is no problems with the mpeg2 stuff but the stations 4,6,7,10 all have issues with the motion. It's not as if it's dropping frames (like the old voom boxes) but its not a fluent motion. Example: your watching the picture and the motion slows down for a...
Just in case anyone is following this, here is the conclusion. The lead tek from Masteck came out to my house yesterday morning and put up the new dish. No problems, working perfectly. Except for the quality issue which I will address in a seperate post. But perfect installation.
Well here the latest with my isssue. Believe it or not, someone from here PM me and told me to call him and that he was a mastek lead tech. We talked and he is going to come out tommorow morning. He said some techs are very lazy and dont want to spend any time doing stuff to resolve a...
Also the same installer on Sunday said that each time it rains in south florida (every day) i will lose signal because florida is a low elevation with the new dish. Heck , i thought the new dish was going to improve this stuff. But the tech told me it was going to be much much worse now.
