    WGBH 44 or similar

Check out OETA (Oklahoma Public Broadcasting) and Montana Public Broadcasting, both on AMC21 (although you'll need a DVB-S2 capable receiver). They are replete with old British sit-coms and BBC drama series.

Suggestions for FTA HD PCI Card and dish for a HTPC system

I'm very happy with the Prof7301 that Rick sells. It performs like a champ on my HTPC (WIN7 64bit, i5 processor) with both SageTV and ProgDVBPro.

SAGETV .frq file for Prof 7201 tuner

Success with MT-PBS at last! Turns out the video decoder I was using in SageTV chokes on H264 signals such as MT-PBS. Sage support came through for me, did a thorough analysis of the problem and recommended changing my Sage set-up to use the Microsoft Video Decoder for H264. This worked...

SAGETV .frq file for Prof 7201 tuner

Greetings all. Anyone interested in using SAGETV with the Prof tuners--here is my SAGETV .frq file which is tested and working (all except MT-PBS which for some reason crashes SAGE). This includes all 11 regularly scheduled PBS stations on AMC21. All of them have complete EPG programming grid...

    Help! Need TSID's for AMC21 DVB-S2 stations

Thanks, but this appears to have only terrestrial stations, no satellite stations.

    Help! Need TSID's for AMC21 DVB-S2 stations

Trying to get SageTV to receive the DVB-S2 stations on AMC21--e.g., Montana PBS, OETA, OKLA, LPB1, LPB2, LPB3, LPBHD. I get these (all but the LPBS stations, which come in erratically) with excellent picture (albeit Quality down in the 40's) using my Prof 7301 PCI care and ProgDVBPro and a .9...

    DVB-S2 and PSK

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the Sonicview 8psk card is only for Turbo8psk, as used by D***. It has no legitimate FTA applications and will NOT receive FTA DVB-S2 signals. (I have to say Sonicview wasn't very up front about this with me, leading me to waste money on a card that was...

PBS is not HD -- anyway to get around that?

Samalex, Suggest you look into AMC21 which has multiple HD PBS channels that you should be able to receive with a 0.9 meter dish, well within OTARD limits. Best

SonicView 8000HD: Recording and Tuner Questions

Dawgneck, Emailed you the URL where I got it. I checked and the URL still works but you have to register on the site first. I am still not getting any UHF OTA above 551 Mhz; it doesn't pick them up on the scan, although I pick them up strongly on my TV. It almost has to be a software...

    PBS feed schedules

Thanks, B. J. Truly excellent idea and a really useful service to the FTA community. Perhaps others can forward any info they have regarding regularly scheduled programming on these feeds and send it on to you for posting on your site, if that would be OK with you. I'll certainly send along...

SonicView 8000HD: Recording and Tuner Questions

Progress First the good news. Using the 4.43 firmware, by selecting "Lock" on the recording-event set-up menu when you set up the recording, you can make the receiver preserve that recording so it won't record over it in the future. Lets say your first program in the sequence is named "PBS-W"...

SonicView 8000HD: Recording and Tuner Questions

Iceberg, Thanks for the quick reply (and sorry I glitched your name in my original post). There is an option to change the default name of the file in the event set-up menu but this didn't work in the old (2.57 software) and it simply reverted to the default channel name (e.g., PBS-E) or, even...

SonicView 8000HD: Recording and Tuner Questions

I have been struggling with using the PVR functions of my new SonicView 8000HD. Thanks to info from this forum, I downloaded and installed the old factory software (4.42) instead of the current, very buggy 2.57. This appears to have solved 90+ percent of my problems with the PVR. It's not...
