Mine works fine. I got it from eBay. As for beta testing is is an android box and I assume it is a case of software, and not hardware. Regardless, the TV works great with it. The 3rd party Android apps run sluggish, but that’s another story.

Every piece of equipment I had was purchased from 3rd parties like solid signal, etc. I was “moved” for RSN purposes. So I always got the equipment on my own. Never took advantage of all DTV’s offers.

I don’t use it a lot, but occasionally there are two big games at the same time.

One feature the mini doesn't have is PIP. Nice for watching 2 games at the same time.
