I was just wondering, is there any difference in HDMI cables? I can get one from Circuit City for $140 (Monster Cable)or I can get a Phillips for $40? Both look flimsy and neither have screws to keep it attached like on a computer monitor. Is there any difference other than the $100?

I went through the website and got installed yesterday. Got the R15 DVR for $99 with an instant rebate of $99. Scheduled the install online also. Completely no hassel and everything went smooth as a baby's butt yesterday. :up

I switched from E* to D* after being a sub with E* since 1996. I kept asking myself all day Saturday, "Why did I wait so long"? It started with the installer for D*. With E* I lost two days work waiting on installers that never came to fix what they had screwed up when they installed us...

I'm getting installed 4 Feb and need to know if the coax coming from the wall can be split to feed both inputs on the DVR? Can it be run from a splitter at all? PLEASE tell me I don't need two coax cables coming from the dish! :confused:

Because........ It's the principle of the thing with me. They can give away the store for a new customer, but someone with a good payment record and customer loyalty can't get a break? E* is going to leasing anyway, so what is the difference? Besides, all the crap we have gone through...

I have been an E* sub since June of 1996. I have waited to upgrade to HD and a DVR until things settled down just a bit. Still waiting until MPEG 4 is done, I called last night to upgrade my legacy receiver to a plain Jane 311. Sure the CSR said. You've been with us a long time and you qualify...

No........ What I want to get an idea of is what it's going to cost me to upgrade to HD-DVR when I do get the HDTV later this summer. I don't want to hear I am locked into a contract for X years and can't upgrade at all. :)

I have read that E* has better picture quality across the board than D*. Can someone explain that? I thought that with a digital picture, you either had a pcture or you didn't and the picture you got is the best you will get. Sorry if this is a dumb question to you tech guys. I'm just trying to...
