I understand that Jimbo but the OP complained that it recorded blank shows and rolled off un-watched ones. He thought newer ones would be suspended from recording. (?). I just offered another option but I agree, suspending for just a month is odd.

It's not that hard. Just remove the screws on the back panel, pull the cover back and up then off. There is the drive. It has maount with a few screws, sats power and date wires. I have 2 R22s. They are, I believe, the last SD DVRs released. They "will" act as HD/DVRs if you have other HD/DVRs on your account as they have the guts of a HR21. If you don't get HD (odd since it's a HD world, now 4K) then go into the menu and hide HD duplicates.

You don't have to. It's yours. Take it down and trash it if you don't want to keep it. Only some receivers they want bak or the access cards, the rest is yours to do as you wish!

Not for me. I get more HD than cable can offer and 6 HD/DVRs for what it cost me for 2 from cable. Cable is $90 in just HD & DVR fees alone + Multi premium HD feeds plus no dropped channels like my cable providers have done. Happy D* sub since 2007.
