Not sure if it is remote as I tried pairing a working Joey remote to hopper. It didn't work. I haven't tried pairing hopper remote to joey. I will try it today.

Do you have HIC in between the solo/duo mode and the Joey? In that case, split the signal going to Joey and feed the HIC and joey seperately.

My assumption is that the start up screen is at low resolution. As soon as it switches to 1080i, it break the signal. Try changing the resolution to 480i/p and see if you get the video using monster cable. Get rid of it and use cheaper cable from monoprice etc.

There is no way you can control both of them individually. I setup one hopper to work with harmony remote. On the other hopper, I disabled the IR, that way only one hopper responds to IR. If I have to use the other hopper, I use the dish remote for it.

MAC address has nothing to do with manufacturer. If I recall, MAC address are sold with groups of 16 million. May be they just ran out of old addresses and started using Sling's mac addresses.

I think the confusion is whether its a 2GB drive or 2TB drive. It does not matter whether its a 2GB/2TB drive. Dish formats the drives in ext2/ext3 Linux based format. They do not need fragmenting.

It is doing how I would want it to "Record from where I paused". I already watched the program till that point. Why would I want it to record the entire program. Just rewind and press record from where u want to start recording.
