My locals are set to map 040 which is Bham, AL. I think I would get better reception from Huntsville 083. How does the stb know this info? And can I change it?

UPDATE The Tech and I found a bad diplexer (burned). And he replaced my receiver.

Tech from Installs,inc said that my diplexer looked like it had been shorted out or burned up. He said it was actually black. My signal disappeared one afternoon while neighbor kid was raking my leaves. I thought my Receiver had failed. Tech replaced the receiver, switched positions on...
