I bought a cheap OTA antenna from monoprice and connected it to the TV for the few times we lose satellite, which has generally been only during severe storms.

I just switched this weekend. The Dish dvr's seem a little more responsive. there have been a couple of times I hit ok, but it didn't register. Channel changes seem a little slower too. Overall, though, I'm really digging the extra features on the hr-24 over the vip722. the 9 channel quick...

Can you hide channels? I know you can lock channels, but on my dish receivers I could hide channels we didn't want from the guide.

I had a dish 500 added last year to pick up HD locals. They are now on 129, so I have no need for 61.5. I can't get my living room 722 to go back to 129. I've tried a check switch and it didn't seem to do anything. The 622 in my bedroom is somehow using 129, but I can't seem to get the 722...

I originally moved from 129 to 61.5 because my locals started there and I got a much stronger signal from 61.5. Our HD used to drop all the time. I've got a 1000.2 and a 500. would they just need to pull the 500 aimed at 61.5? Has 129 improved?

This is exactly what I'm looking for in the end. Are they talking about doing something with Microsoft Media Room or will it be purely powered by Sling. This years solution sounds fine, but it doesn't quite meet the needs of my family's viewing habits.

This is great, but where I live, all we get OTA is the 4 networks and pbs.

I have a really stupid question. Where is the switch located? is it on my dish (1000.2) would it be inside where the installer ran the cables into the house? Or do I even have a switch? I currently have 2 recievers. I'd like to run another line for a receiver for some testing I'll be doing.
