The way I see it... Cablevision will probably drop VOOM channels at the end of this month and turn on 15 new ones.

I currently have one Dish 500 and one Dish 300. I think they are connected to a DP34 switch. The wires from the switch then go to a connector inside the house, so that preinstalled wiring in the could be used.

Is there any chance of getting the other local networks in HD. Such as WPIX (CW11) in NYC? All the cable companies carry them.

I'm having major issues with audio/picture synch on my VIP-211. :mad: The most noticeable problems occur when I watch HD channels, which is probably linked to the fact that I’m using a digital audio connection between 211 and my home theater system. Is E* aware of this problem?

Are there any signs of having the Audio Sync problem fixed on the VIP-211 in the near future?? I was just watching The TonighShow on NBC-HD and the sound/picture was out of sync by at least a second.

You can not receive HD locals with the 811. You need to have one of the new MPEG-4 boxes (211, 411, 622).

IS it possible to record to an external USB HDrive???

I should get my 211 next week, but I never got a chance to play around with 942 or anything that uses similar software so I'm looking forward to seeing it in action. My question is - Is 211 really better than 811 and 301?? My 811 is OK, but I have to do a switch check every 2 days now, so...

At this point, I would have to say I am more interested in content rather than numbers! :) I don't need more HD channels, I would rather see more & better things shown on what we have already. Hopefully when more companies pick up Voom, there will be more money to invest in their stuff...

I remember hearing something about the Food Network HD and Home & Garden HD joining the Dish lineup this year, but can't remember if it was just rumors or something real. Keeping my fingers crossed for National Geographic HD too!!
