    Rebooting was obviously the first thing I tried. After realizing that both of my neighbors had the same problem, I contacted 7&4. It happens on 9&10/fox 32, but not nearly as often.

    It's not happening on Charter Cable, hooked to the same tv. It happens every 5 minutes or so. A "brrrriipppp" sound, then silence for a second. Then the sound catches up. It's maddening.

    I contacted 7&4 on September 30th about this issue, as they seem to be the worst offenders. This was their reply: Subject: RE: WPBN contact us submission - Programming We are working on the problem with Direct TV but we are not yet sure whose end has the problem.

    I live in Northern Michigan. My quest for National CBS is due to my local affiliate (WWTV) broadcasting their digital signal at low power. My brother in-law lives in Warren and mocks me with his clip-on dish antenna that scores him all the networks in HD.

    I wonder why you weren't approved for CBS-HD. WWJ is an Owned and Operated station, and shouldn't have given you any hassle about it.

    Discovery HD Theater Picture Improved?

    I thought I was nuts seeing the brightness pulsate on DiscHD. I tried pointing it out to my son and he couldn't see it. I even watched the forums for mention of it and saw nothing. It seems very obvious to me, why isn't everyone complaining about it?

    There's a big thread on AVSForums about it. It looks like for most of the country, the premiere of LAX had no dialogue at all! Quite impressive for NBC/Universal.

    I wonder if Mr. Kring realizes that I wouldn't have "moved" my physical address to the Grand Rapids DMA if his station was available on Dish. I don't watch his station at all because of his refusal to consent to retransmission.

    The penalty for early termination is only about $250 isn't it? You could make twice that by putting your 811 on eBay.

    I'm not understanding this. I get WCBS as a distant network for $1.50. That will not be interrupted? WCBS-DT WILL be interrupted? I only get the distant to get the HD feed. Guess I wait till midnight and see what stays on.
