wireless internet interfering with C Band

I was on the phone with the ISP last night and they were willing to walk around and test for another location for the ISP dish. But we're still knee deep in snow and it will have to wait a bit. Jim

wireless internet interfering with C Band

Unfortunately I am really threading a needle when it comes to hitting the ISP tower. There is really no other place on my house that will not be obstructed. And you can't tell from the picture, but the property really slopes downward from right to left on the picture, so placing a pole on the...

wireless internet interfering with C Band

Oh well. I tried the shield approach and it did absolutely nothing. It seems like the problem might be that the signals for the C Band and the ISP are crossing directly into each other's path. My options are extremely limited, but I will see if I can move the ISP dish when things thaw out. I...

wireless internet interfering with C Band

Thanks all. Relocating any of the dishes if needed is going to have to wait for spring :) But I'll try to put a shield of some kind between the ISP dish and the c band dish this weekend just for grins. Hopefully it will help enough. Jim

wireless internet interfering with C Band

Regarding Bob2011's question: I generally only look at 3 satellites and the problem occurs on all. I have a collection of old dish network type dishes and mounts and was wondering if placing one of those as kind of a shield between the ISP dish and the c band dish would work. Or does it have...

wireless internet interfering with C Band

Thanks to all for responding. I think I'll try FatAir's suggestion with some mesh near the internet dish since that is the easiest for me to try, especially now with frozen ground covered with snow. I really can't do much with the location of the 2 dishes due to geographic issues. The ISP is...

wireless internet interfering with C Band

Looks like this is going to be difficult! The only other spot that I MAY be able to still hit the wifi tower with the antenna is located about 15 to 20 ft north of the C Band dish. It would be pointing at more or less right angles to the C band dish, but I imaging that will probably still...

wireless internet interfering with C Band

Yes, the yellow circle is the location of the wireless setup. And unfortunately I don't have a lot of flexibility with the wifi setup and that is about the only location where I have line of sight to the tower for that. I did a quick search and was wondering if any of these C-Band filters...

wireless internet interfering with C Band

I have yet to hear from my internet provider regarding the frequencies, but the cable for the C Band dish is buried and enters into my basement, so the cables shouldn't be the problem. I am attaching pictures of the setup if that helps clarify things. Thanks again for your help! Jim

wireless internet interfering with C Band

It is a small local company that is just getting started in my area. I don't really understand the technology, but it is some kind of radio/line of sight that works pretty well for me. Jim

wireless internet interfering with C Band

I'm not sure what frequencies the internet provider is using, so I'll have to ask. As far as the location goes: The internet dish is more or less at a right angle to the C Band and about 60 ft or so in front and off to the left. And I did buy one of the Titanium C1-PLL's after seeing the...

wireless internet interfering with C Band

Hi there. A month or so ago I posted about my signal stuttering and freezing up and I checked every connection, bought another LNBF and swapped out receivers, but no change. Well, as it turns out, I also had gotten setup with a wireless internet provider (with a small dish and transmitter)...

    Bad LNB?

I have a 6ft dish with a BSC621 LNB which I have pretty much been pointing at Anik F1R for the last year or so. Lately my video has been choppy and freezing up. The signal strength is still good (70% or so) so I thought maybe the receiver was flaky. I swapped out my Micro HD for an OpenBox S9...
