Got replacement #3, working great!

So just an update, (first off, I just want to say i didn't aim for this thread to turn into a "refurb are no good", I just personally don't like refurb stuff.) Now for the update, got replacement receiver #2 today, got it out of the box and first thing i noticed was this horrible cigarette...

Mine was 4 years old, i hate refurb stuff, will never ever ever purchase a refurb anything (computer, phone, etc., and i only purchase new cars!).

Would think they would do better testing before sending them back out for use, to save on calls, and shipping. Now, I think i must go out and re-align my dish that is working. :)

Had a hard drive failure in my 722, did a chat on dish.com and they sent me a replacement. Have had issues since the moment of hooking the replacement up, getting random complete signal loss, internal communications errors, acquiring signal, programing not authorized errors and complete freeze...

Thanks for the replies, I just wanted to see what your opinion was on sending back the same unit they sent me and if it would trigger the system and charge me. I have 3 HD Tv's in my house, I have a purchased 211, a 612, and a 722 (running in single mode for PIP).

I was having some issues with my 612, so I did a online tech chat, the CSR determined that I needed to do a RMA and swap the receiver, which is what I wanted to do in the first place. So, they give me a RMA #, I log into my dish account and see that there is no shipments for the rma, so I do...

I pulled all the cables off today, everything looked good except, the end that was connected on the input of the dpp separator on the 612, it had an extremely long copper core extending beyond the connector's end, so I sniped it even with the end. So far everything is working ok, only time will...

Would be nice if dish didn't charge $95 a pop to come change it, and probably have to sign up for another 24 months.

Ok, to add some more water to the mud, If i am watching a 77 channel on my 722, and the 622 goes to the signal screen while watching a 77, my 722 will keep on working UNTIL I change the channel to a channel off the 77 and back onto the 77 then I get the signal screen on the 722, it does its...

Its all ground level so I can get to it easily (if they left enough slack in the cable), and I have the tools and compression ends to re-do it all.

No OTA antennas, wished i did though so i could drop the locals and save that $5.99

Its only happening on the two DVRS and not the regular 211k, so two sets of cables going bad at the same time?

The 77 goes into the 1000.2 and from the 1000.2 I have three drops coming into the house. Do I need to put new ends on the drops coming into the house, or the one from the 1000.2 to the 77.
