    Official DISH Channel Request Thread

"ION HD" would be a welcome addition. Currently ION is only available in Standard Definition. In the NYC market, ION is part of the locals lineup also known as PAX-TV, and is readily available OTA in HD. Unfortunately, my receivers do not have an OTA module and hence I do not have this channel...

Can a new customer combine these offers?

I didn't see this reply but what exactly is DIRT and how do I contact a DIRT member?

    No Signal

Yes the loss happens for a short period of time. However, because the rain was very heavy, it was out longer.

    No Signal

I posted a few days back: http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/311750-Satellite-Signal-Strength It's raining quite heavily in NYC over the past week. Right now I don't get any signal whatsoever. The above referenced post provides signal levels for my installation. Is this sort of outage really...

Can a new customer combine these offers?

So when I got Dish I went through a retailer (I'm somewhat regretting the decision). Here's why. Basically, I was aware of an offer (dish refer a friend: dish/com/referafriend). My retailer didn't sign me up for it. Instead, they signed me up for DISH International refer a friend...

    Satellite Signal Strength

If I switch to OTA, ION is in HD. Dish ION is non-HD. So it still begs the question: Who is to blame?

    Satellite Signal Strength

Yes my locals come out of the 61.5West Transponder 22 Spotbeam 2 (if that makes any verbal sense). The SS is 60+ so I should be good (I hope). That does clear up my understanding of DMA and it does make sense. However, I am very inclined to find out why the NYC locals are on 72.7West as well...

    Satellite Signal Strength

What is a DMA? And what impact does it have on me being in NYC? If the programming is there for me to receive on either of the two satellites I should be able to see it as long as I am subscribed to it right? And after checking 61.5 TP 22's Spotbeam, I do have my locals. I still don't know what...

    Satellite Signal Strength

Okay I went through extensive waiting and watching (61.5 is a pain in the arse with the transponders not locking and spotbeam recognition taking forever). Basically, I want to know if my signals are good. We had dish at one point of time about 10 years back where they pointed 1 satellite at...

Need help on new dish install

Alrighty Folks, I got my Dish installed. Got a 1000.4 (61.5/72/77) and the DishPlus (118) for international programming. My Signal range on the VIP222k and VIP211 show the following: 61.5 : >=59 72 : >=65 77 : >=62 118 : >= 58 What bothers me is that the scale goes all the way up to 125 or so...

Need help on new dish install

We don't want the DVR. And even if we get the DVR (Hopper + Joeys) initially, if we decide we want to cancel DVR service, what then? Are we screwed or does dish allow downgrading the package from DVR to non-dvr and let you keep the Hopper and Joey? Plus the way I see it, my 3 tv setup will cost...
