i think it has to do with AFT (auto fine tuning) feature on the second TV because it subsides eventually. thanks!

there are actually 3 tuners allowing you to do 3 simul recordings! the 3rd one of course is the built in ATSC one. i do find that sometimes it loses reception even though the signal is in the 80's and you get the annoying message about the disruption.

i have a month old install in my home with 2 X 722's with tv2's connected via coax. the installer ran the TV out through a diplexer using the same cable i am getting the sat signals from which is already diplexed for the dual channels. i got fairly loud hiss on both the analog TV2's. tech...

hmmm, yes i did notice that higher elevation but don't think i had much snow buildup. i don't consider myself being in the frigid north anymore, not for the last 15 years anyway. are those dish warmers recommended? where can i get one for the 1000.4?

this is the second time since my install last week that i got snow fade. i have a 1000.4 dish and these are my current readings after i got signal again. satellite 61.5 - transponder 29 = 40 satellite 77 - transponder 21 = 36 earlier they were both zero. i was eyeballing my dish setup...

It's on top of my roof at the highest level, I'll take out binoculars later to see better. I thought maybe the size was a giveaway since it's the biggest D*network dish I've seen to date. Thanks for the info, will start looking up stuff on the "1000".

I'm in NJ and had a recent installation of HD with 2 X 722's. The slip the installer gave me didn't say much and from what I can see outside, he installed one big dish next to my old dtv SD one which is only about half the size. It's pointer higher and more SW than my dtv dish. I'm not sure...

i didn't know there were different options. since i have HD i have that really big one - it dwarfs my old directv SD dish. i'm also curious about the "tweaking", will have to check my readings - when i did a quick check they were green but i don't remember the numbers...

just had 2 X 722's installed. had dual cable runs from my old directv setup which they used. they only used one of the cables and they biplexed (biplexer=splitter) the heck out of each one, running the dual tuners plus the tv2 out on the same cable. this is three logical connections using one...

had directv / dtivo for years and only had a few rain / snow outs. the dish HD dish is huge compared to my old one, that's why i was surprised at the rain fade when it wasn't really even stormin outside. is dish network more susceptible to rain fade than directv? at least i now have OTA HD...
