Long DISH customer, changing to DIRECTV probably

With DirecTV, you have to use TVersity to stream from your PC to your TV? And- is streaming from PC to TV available with Dish Network?

So first step is to run cat6 through my walls to my bedroom. Second step is to get that adapter kit from monoprice, and that will allow me to run hdmi from my receiver in the living room through the cat6 to my tv via hdmi in my bedroom? So then, when running in single mode..both tv's will be...

It was my understanding that DirecTV had transitioned to MPEG4? More details? I watch a lot of SD either way, so if it's that much worse on DirecTV...that could be a huge reason to stick with Dish.

I always thought it would be a hassle to duplicate all my timers. I find myself constantly on my dvr deleting timers, adjusting timers from new episodes to all episodes, and vice versa. It would seem a complete pain in the butt to repeat the process in the bedroom every time I change something...

Because that won't enable me to record a show in the living room and finish watching it in the bedroom. If I had a second hd dvr in the bedroom, I would need to create a second timer on that dvr...that's what I'm trying to avoid.

Confused by what you're telling me here. Are you saying I should run an HDMI cable from my receiver in the living room to the TV in my bedroom? I'd have to run it through walls, and it would be maybe 50-60 feet. If this was possible, what would this enable me to do? I'm not a very advanced...

What do you mean when you say "1 applies if the second room is a receiver (H2x for example), not a DVR (HR2x)" Also, what do you mean when you say you like having "watchable SD.."

How sure are you of #1? I talked with DirecTV, and they swear the second room has the capability to pause live TV... And regarding #3, which DVR functions are you talking about?

The multi-room extender was first announced at CES 2010...and it's still not out yet. It could be 2012 before we even see it. And when it is released, will it have the same capabilities as DirecTV's? And what will be the setup cost and monthly cost...

I have two HDTV's. One in the living room, one in the bedroom. I like the capability of my dual tuner DVR so I can record a show in the living room and finish watching it in my bedroom. However, it's down converting all the HD to SD when I watch it in my bedroom. What a waste of a beautiful...

    Going from 622 to 722?

Is it relatively easy to back up my shows to an EHDD, then reinstall the new refurb 622, and transfer the shows from the EHDD to the new refurb 622?

    Going from 622 to 722?

If they replace my current 622 with a refurb 622, how do I transfer my shows from the old receiver to the new one? Is there a way for the tech to do that, or must I attach an external hard drive and transfer it that way...is that even possible?

    Losing HD permanently? Possible fix?

The letter I received indicated I would be losing HD programming..not locals. So I'm not sure locals are involved with this. I just want to know if I'm going to be losing HD some time in the future, and how to get the 6 new HD channels if I can't get 129. That's it.

    Losing HD permanently? Possible fix?

You'll need to speak to me like I'm a child. Not really technically savvy with Dish Network so I'm not even sure what an arc is or if I'm covered by it. I'm in Tallahassee FL. And I need to know what to say to Dish when I call them back and ask them to fix my situation. Will 61.5...

    Losing HD permanently? Possible fix?

I'm on 119, 110, 61.5 if you're curious. But I really don't want to lose my HD and I really would like to have access to the 6 new HD channels released at Team Summit. Tech says 129 is blocked by trees. Not sure if he tried any other orbital locations. What are my other options?
