    Advice request - new setup

Thanks - yea, considering 3 of the TV's are in the master bedroom/bathroom...lots of mirroring will be done. I think I've been convinced that the Hopper 3 is the way to go, even though I'm going to dislike giving up my 2 HWS's. Big thanks to everyone who threw info my way!

    Advice request - new setup

So, the current home I have 2 HWS and a Joey. Pretty happy with the overall setup, kiddo has her own Hopper and her and the wife don't conflict at all. Fast forward to moving to the new house. Wow, TV explosion. So going from a couple of 32in HD TV's to the potential for the following. 4K TV...

    2 Hoppers one w/ sling

Thanks Chris - PM note sent. Have an upgrade happening today and I guess I may want to change some of the options with it given that.

    2 Hoppers one w/ sling

Is it possible to sling recordings on the non-sling Hopper? I know we only get one stream per sling, just hoping it has access to all recordings on both Hoppers. Thanks, Leto

My quest to get DLNA working on the Hopper...

Interesting - I find that not having to flip inputs to the PS3, fire it up, and find PlayOn greatly improves the WAF. Her ability to just go to the Menu and find all this? Makes DLNA on the Hopper priceless to me.

Learning mode and the Sleep timer

Ugh, reading up on that, it seems to be the exact problem. I'll give that a try and see how it goes tonight.

Learning mode and the Sleep timer

So, what button's on the remote can successfully be programmed from the TV remote? I've followed the onscreen prompts and my remote seems to learn the Sleep command from the TV remote. However, it seems like no matter what button I choose it is 'overridden' by whatever the default command for...

My quest to get DLNA working on the Hopper...

Same here. HIC install took all of 5 minutes. All 4 DLNA servers in my house showed up at all locations where with the previous direct connect to Hopper did nothing. Been playing around with it tonight and it seems to work just fine for PlayOn and Windows 7 server instances.

My quest to get DLNA working on the Hopper...

The HIC and service call to install was a 0$ item for me.

My quest to get DLNA working on the Hopper...

Yep. Got the same line from Dish tech that an HIC was needed for DLNA. They are sending a tech out to install the HIC on Friday for free. I'll report back whether it works. Much thanks for starting thread.

My quest to get DLNA working on the Hopper...

Yeah, that would be good info to have. I have the Hopper dropped in direct to my router so the installer didn't bother with the HIC - though he had one with him. If it works, I may be tempted to drop the 25$. Again, comes down to what really should work at this point.

QUESTION - What Bugs or Usability Issues do you have with your Hopper?

DNLA doesn't appear to work Bluetooth headsets aren't supported as yet ( yes, not truly a bug but something I thought was going to be supported at launch and a huge let-down to see missing). Oh yes, I'll second the guide print being WAY to small. One of the things I loved about E* vs D* was...

My quest to get DLNA working on the Hopper...

Right, but the exact same setup works for some and not for others. I.E. The PlayOn server that Scott has working, does not work for several of us. I also get there are multiple other variables in play, so perhaps my router ( or others) isn't the right type, etc. I would just like to hear an...

My quest to get DLNA working on the Hopper...

It would be nice to get some official word on that....at least for DLNA the area 'appears' active. I've also noticed some folks with Hopper's reporting it currently working for them.

My quest to get DLNA working on the Hopper...

Trying to get this going myself.... I have a PS3 and a PC with PlayOn in the same network. They see each other fine, but the Hopper doesn't see either of them. I'm able to ping from the PC to the Hopper, so communication is good, just nothing on the Hopper in the device list. I'll definitely...
