The current Ka/Ku download for the Birdog programs it for 13v on the 101 and 119 slot but the Birdog will put out 13v, 18v with or without 22khz tone depending on programming. I think the Birdog people have the 110 download programming wrong.

I was told there are reasons why you don’t want to peak on the 99 or 103Ka birds. Something about an error depending on where you are in the country and peaking at 101 minimizes the error. What’s wrong with the current method and using an affordable meter? Bob

Never had to adjust the screw on an AT9? You mean you don’t peak the antenna by balancing the left and right wobble adjustment? Bob

That’s not just a trick but also the basic instructions that come with the AT9. You should never loose 101 from adjusting the skew unless you loosen the bolts so much that the dish droops. I’ve done a bunch and 101 stays very stable as you rotate the skew or tilt. Bob

Grounding the dish is for electrical safety, not lightning protection. Preventing damage from lightning is way beyond what the average person can ever accomplish. It would also cost more than the dish install, your entire home entertainment center and possibly your car. Do what others have said...

Have you tried it in the pass through mode where the receiver is powering the dish? Bob

The Ka/Ku dish is not compatible with other types of LNBs, don’t plug anything into the 110/119 ports of the main LNB head except the specific LNBs that come with the dish. Someone mentioned using a second Ka/Ku of the same type just for 110/119 and there is no reason that should not work. Bob
