Need some help - 8 foot Unimesh install

The reason why your regular streaming devices and likely most TVs can't playback most 4:2:2 HD feeds is the same reason your satellite receivers can't watch them. The processors don't support 4:2:2 chroma and don't have the power to decode using software. I understand this may have worked in...

You can open the .m3u file in VLC on your Tivo Stream 4k . Of course it won't work (Amlogic S905y2) but hey maybe I 'm wrong ;)

I don't want to rain on anyone's fun or experimentation but do you honestly believe the cpu powering your TV's OS is going to playback a 4:2:2 HD stream?

Need some help - 8 foot Unimesh install

I've posted this previously but I've tried the major streaming devices for 4:2:2 HD playback over wired ethernet. FireTV 4k and GoogleTV 4k cannot playback 4:2:2 HD feeds. FireTV cube and NVIDIA Shield TV can playback 720p but fail on 1080. AppleTV can playback 720p and 1080 but the colors on...

Great to hear this worked out. I don't have a V9 but it sounds like I should consider it. Regarding using other streaming devices for a client such as Roku, Chromecast etc. they won't work for 4:2:2 HD feeds.

The easiest and least expensive solution is mini PC or Chromebox running LibreELEC (Kodi) connected directly to TV.

Want to wager large sums of money the Roku can't playback 4:2:2 1080 HD HEVC?

Streaming 4.2.2 via Phone to TV

Yes I too can stream 4:2:2 HD from Edison to smartphone and PC (Chromebox running Windows) and both devices can play content normally. You can't cast from your phone to TV because your TV media player or streaming device can't playback the 4:2:2 HD file and your phone CPU likely can't process...
