Currently streaming the HDR 4:2:2 FTA Nascar feed on 89 C-band using SMPlayer. The feed is streaming well, no breakup's, but I notice the CPU usage is at 100%. The process using the most resources is called MPV. I'm assuming this is a process SMPlayer uses to render video.

Is this kind of CPU utilization normal? I thought the satellite receiver did most of the heavy lifting with streaming to PC.

Edit: after doing some research I see that SMPlayer is a frontend for command-line video players like MPV, so that makes sense. I'm just surprised by the 100% CPU usage.

the satellite receiver is sending the stream to your PC which is doing the decoding/playback. what is the CPU/GPU of your PC?
