My "something else" vote goes for TCM HD.

Interesting choice of "major" but even so: AMC HD exists, TCM HD exists, BBC America HD rolls out in July, CNBC HD exists, Headline news would be nice but CNN HD exists.

Okay, and since I only have one 622 right now, I don't hit that magic ceiling, I guess. But I'm assuming but the start up cost and perhaps the ongoing cost, is higher with the 622/722? "Quality"= reliability issues, or output quality (picture)?

Or a 612, right? I just realized this might be compatible with the external hard drive from my 622. If that's the case, that is probably what I need to do.

Second carrier appears likely to be Charter. Really really really hoping DISH steps up before any other provider I have access to. For some people, an offering like Sunday Ticket dictates their provider, regardless of other factors. For me, TCM HD would be such a "killer app" and I'd hate to...

So really the cheapest route for me is lease another 622 or 722, and activate the external drive feature on it.

What about the 222? I'd like to add a second HD receiver to my household, and just move the 750G drive full of stuff from my old 622 over to the new receiver and have a second DVR that way....

I don't doubt that DISH was clear. I do think the blog I was reading was less than clear about it. I guess if an HD Slingcatcher is not too pricey, that might be a good alternative for me.

I read an early spec sheet that said TV2 output instead of being SD, will also be HD. Has that changed?
