Any tips for watching video via DLNA on 922?

I have tried everything I can think of to get DLNA video streaming working on my 922. The only time I've ever got it to work was with a program in windows (forget the name) that processes the video on the computer, then sends it over. That was still choppy and unenjoyable. My problem is that the...

    upgrade to vip922?

I think of it as a 'sling fee' because if you get a hopper or a 722k, you're going to have to purchase a $49 adapter to get the same capability that comes standard in the 922.

    upgrade to vip922?

The 922 is awesome, I've had mine over a year and haven't had any issues since the May software update. In fact it's worked faster and sling reliability improved greatly.

Returning to Dish - Hopper or 922 or 722k

Off contract price for a hopper is $449 and the joeys are $99 each. The 922 is the way to go for 2 tv's. It's very stable and fast now, menus look beautiful. The 722k just feels antiquated now. Not to mention you get more storage and sling built in.

    Celtics on league pass 3/6/12

Was watching the game at my dads, it went into overtime, teams took a time out and the feed shut off! Is this a problem local to his setup, or did other people also experience this? Does this happen to all providers because of ESPN cutting it off to them?

Does receiver have to be active to use EHD?

Regarding VIP receivers - if it has been deactivated by DISH, Account cancelled, or been unplugged/without signal (for 3-7 days aka losing its authorization) you will not be able to watch EHD content. I don't think a clock matters because DISH uses a 2 key encryption system. One key is yours...

NOW I know why the techs never want any of the coffee I offer! I always thought it was a nice gesture.

Yep dish told me November 15th is when the 922 will get the blockbuster movie pass. October 30th for the 612, if anyone cares about that.

    No locals?

Dish uses spot beams for the locals, which means the locals are only broadcast to certain geographical regions. If you're outside if that region, there's no way to get them. If you are close enough to the states, you may fall into one, but if you're that close you should be able top use an ota...

722K and Ext HD DVR Intergration?

There is a setting that lets you enable recording to an external hard drive, but it will only do so if the hard drive in your 722 is full. I believe its under system setup-record plus. I can't remember exactly and I have a 922 now, so I can't check.

    922 Sling Issues?

dish.sling.com has a blurb about al the new updates at dishnetwork.com and how the dish.sling.com address won't be around much longer. I tried to sign up a new account through the slingplayer app and it said my email address is already signed up :/ I hesitate to create a sling account with my...

Dish channel line up vs AT&T U-Verse channel line up

I am really wondering how a new CEO and increased competitive pressures will influence this release

Dish channel line up vs AT&T U-Verse channel line up

Not right now. Dish is supposed to release their XiP line of receivers that will have this functionality in the first half of 2012. The menus will be like that of the 922. Should be sweet!

Trade Starz for MAX and HBO

Actually, they give you a slight discount if you keep both. They only charge $24 for the them if you get them at the same time Yeah I asked a CS rep and they said if you're already paying for HBO or max, they won't give you a channel you're already paying for for free. The point is to let...
