FYI: Improper usage on home page

Seems as much as you 'guys' visit over at www.DBSTalk.com , you would know by now that it's than, not "then". Think of me as a "freelance grammar consultant". I'm paid what I'm worth. :no :D

Not a dish farm, just hobby farm.

Go vertical I call it my dish tree - a wee bit obsolete, but I keep the Voom dish up just to irritate the apt manager. :D

    The Glitter Look.

It's commonly called 'pixelization' - caused either by marginal signal strength, or a software bug in your receiver. If you are a recent sub, the latter may be the problem until your receiver catches up with all the updates. I've had Voom for six days now, and I'm just now seeing the...

With no Voom signal on install... what should I do?

It sound like your installers were either inexperienced or in a hurry. They should know in advance what the AZ/EL numbers are. Ask for another installer. The aiming/signal acquisition process requires the dish to be mounted and adjusted incrementally by only 1 or 2 degrees at a time. After each...

    Canceling Voom

That "expert' opinion obviously struck a chord with you. When I hear blanket criticisms of that sort, I tend to discount them considering the source. If your installer did say that, then he was being disloyal to someone who helping put food on his table. The Voom receiver is capable of being a...

    ISF Calibration Question..

In relation to the cost of a calibration, display size does not matter, but because the calibration settings are input/source specific, the number of inputs you want calibrated may be a factor. Gregg did my 53" Panny in February. My primary issues with the set were geometry and red push. He...

    Voom System Settings Question

Land Line Connection Not Required... Clearly, the Voom IRD does not require a phone line connection. I haven't had a physical land line since I got a wireless nationwide internet connection for my notebook pc with T-Mobile last year. My Voom install was done yesterday. The installer didn't...

Land Line Connectioin Not Required Clearly, the Voom IRD does not require a phone line connection. I haven't had a physical land line since I got a wireless nationwide internet connection with T-Mobile lst year. My Voom install was done yesterday. The installer didn't mention the phone...

How about this "Voomers": Dish about to expand their HD pack 25%!

Check your math "Actually", check your arithmetic. Adding one channel to four existing channels is a 25% increase. Adding one to five existing channels would be a 20% increase.

Any news on the Turner channels?

Whether you like CNN or I like CNN doesn't matter. What matters is that CNN is there if/when we want to watch it. AFAIC, CNN made its mark during Gulf War I, and has come way back from the FoxNews intro ratings fade. I watch both and I want both to be there when I want.

Are there ever any free previews of movie channels?

I just sub to everything so I don't have to depend on free previews to see movies - I get them all. HA! :D
