I have a replay working fine with an older Hughes D* box. The STB has a serial port that connects to a little gizmo i bought on the internet that converts the serial protocol from the STB to the protocol that the Replay understands. Check Replay TV web forum sites for info (Replayzone.com???)...

But aren't these the same people who let D* carry SD signal??? I don't understand why they got the SD so easily and now HD is held up!!

I thought I have read in some stories that there might be some patent issues with regard to some DVR features such as 30 second skip. Isn't Dish currently in litigation with Tivo over patent infringement on some of these features. Perhaps if Dish wins their case and some of the Tivo patents...
