Statement from DISH on CSN Philly

Comcast using double talk, so surprising ;) They provide CSN Philly to RCN (has some small markets around Philly) and FIOS (which is only available in certain areas) because they couldn't hide behind the terrestrial loophole for these providers like they can for satellite. This is the same...

CSN Philly formally requested by Dish Network and DirecTV

From the Philly Inquirer Dish: We will file Comcast complaint over sports | Philadelphia Inquirer | 07/30/2010 Doesn't sound like Comcast is playing nice, kind of surprising with the NBC deal looming, but I guess they're afraid of all those dishes popping up in their back yard.

Comcast Philadelphia and Channel 4 San Diego

FCC seeking to close programming access loophole

Just more double talk by Comcast, in the article Roberts says he "reserved the right to defend ourselves if any complaints should be filed." So in other words, they won't "challenge" the FCC ruling, but if anyone tries to use the ruling to gain access they will still fight it.

Any update on CSN Philly to Dish?

The funny thing is Comcast keeps saying that they'll follow all the FCC program access rules to get the NBC Universal deal approved, yet they're still fighting this rule. It's hard to believe some people don't trust them

DISH Network Statement Regarding the FCC’s Program Access Decision

Good news. Let's hope that it doesn't drag out into a long legal battle now. Hopefully the looming NBC Universal deal will make Comcast want to give the appearance that they're not going to withhold programming.

So sick of these illogical (and seemingly arbitrary) hockey blackouts...

Not sure how it was over in Hanover, but here the Flyers were blacked out even before they added CSN Philly on cable, which meant the only way you could watch the games was to get satellite and "have" a zip code outside the black out area. Even now it's still screwed up, on cable we get CSN...

So sick of these illogical (and seemingly arbitrary) hockey blackouts...

It's kind of a glass half empty/full thing here in York, they added CSN Philly, like you said, but not in high def.

FCC seeking to close programming access loophole

Last I heard it was scheduled for January 29th FCC Schedules Vote On Terrestrial Exemption Order - 2009-12-30 18:28:59 | Multichannel News I'm trying not to get my hopes too high on this, Comcast always seems to find a way to keep CSN Philly off satellite.

So sick of these illogical (and seemingly arbitrary) hockey blackouts...

Shinner, I can understand your frustration. When I first moved to York they had Suscom cable, they offered CSN Mid-Atlantic (because the Orioles were on then) & FSN Pitt. So I figured I'd get center ice through them to watch the Flyers, well turns out they were blacked out on center ice on...

Comcast Central PA- 3 more HD channels

The same ones showed up in York, PA While it's good to have new HD channels, a news channel in HD (whether it be Fox, CNN, MSNBC) seems a waste if you have limited bandwidth.

    NHL Center ICE - HD

Amen to that. I didn't have the EI package, I'm wondering if the CSN Philly broadcasts of the Phillies were available in HD or SD only? Couldn't find anything definite out there. My local Comcast system only provides CSN Philly in SD (CSN DC in HD), so I have to decide whether it's better to...
